Application/Invitation: So many lessons to be learned from this little parable. The ones we’ll concentrate on today are that no matter where you find yourself, no matter what you’ve done, God is waiting for you. We should be excited when the unrighteous repent. Where are you today? Are you looking down your nose in judgment as the stay-at-home brother did? Or are you excited when someone gets saved. Or perhaps you are the one that has gone astray. Maybe you’ve found yourself in the proverbial pigsty. Get yourself up and GO HOME! God is waiting for you. He loves you and will receive you as you are, but loves you too much to let you stay that way!
