Message Point: This passage captures both the passive danger of collusion and the active confrontation of collision. It’s a spiritual call to arms.

Focus Passage: Ephesians 6:10–13

Supplemental Passage: "…choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: … but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15 NASB)

Introduction: In 1936, King Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson. He was bitter that he had to do that and, as some might say, vindictive. In 1937, he and his wife visited Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. It is speculated that in his bitterness toward England and the royal family, he made an agreement with Hitler that if the Nazis won the war, he would be re-established as King of England. Nothing has been made known for sure because the British quickly covered up whatever they found after the war. But just think, a member of the British royal family was in cahoots with the one who wanted to destroy their kingdom. Is it any different when a member of God’s royal family is seemingly in collusion with our enemy?

I. The Quiet Pact: Collusion with Darkness

a. "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. (John 3:19 NASB)

b. Collusion is often silent, subtle, and seductive.

c. The unsaved soul may not realize they’re aligned with the enemy—through compromise, apathy, or rebellion.

d. The devil doesn’t need a formal contract; he thrives on quiet consent.

II. The Violent Clash: Collision with Evil

a. for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. (2 Corinthians 10:4 NASB)

b. The saved believer, armored in truth, inevitably collides with the enemy.

c. Collision is not accidental—it’s the result of standing firm in righteousness.

d. Expect resistance when you walk in obedience; the devil doesn’t fight what he already owns.

III. The Deciding Ground: Whose Side Are You On?

a. "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. (Matthew 12:30 NASB)

b. "…choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: … but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15 NASB)

c. Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people did not answer him a word. (1 Kings 18:21 NASB)

d. There is no neutral zone in spiritual warfare.

e. Every heart is either in collusion or preparing for collision.

f. The call is to choose allegiance: passive partnership with evil or active resistance in Christ.

Application/Call to Obedience: “Are you quietly walking with the enemy—or boldly standing against him? Collusion leads to destruction. Collision leads to victory.” The Bible says, ‘that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.’ (Romans 10:9-10 NASB)
