Explores our Christian identity as individuals chosen by God, cleansed by Christ's sacrifice, and called to a life of service.
Greetings, beloved family of God. It is a blessing to be gathered together in this sacred space once again, to share in the profound joy of fellowship, and to be nourished by the Word of God. As we gather here, we are drawn into the embrace of our Creator, reminded of the cleansing power of Christ, and challenged to answer His call to serve.
Israelmore Ayivor once wrote, "No matter how bad you feel, God never sees you as a hopeless person. He may see you as a sinner who needs to be re-washed to get back to his old vision for His purpose, but He will never see you as a hopeless being." How aptly this encapsulates the essence of our faith, the cornerstone of our shared belief, and the guiding principle of our lives.
Let us now turn to the book of Acts, chapter 11, verse 9. The Word of God reads:
"The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’"
In the simplicity of this verse lies a profound truth about our identity as Christians. We are chosen by God, cleansed by Christ, and called to serve.
The Creator of the universe, the One who crafted the stars and spun the galaxies into existence, has chosen us. This is not a random selection, but a deliberate act of divine love. The Creator did not just create us and leave us to our own devices. He chose us, set us apart, and called us His own. This is a profound truth that we must grasp and internalize.
The act of being chosen by the Creator is not a passive experience: It is not something that happens to us without our knowledge or consent. It is an active, ongoing relationship that requires our participation. We are not merely chosen; we are called. We are invited into a relationship with the Creator, a relationship that is marked by love, grace, and purpose.
This divine selection is not based on our merit or worthiness: We are not chosen because we are good enough, smart enough, or talented enough. We are chosen simply because the Creator loves us. His choice is not dependent on our performance or our ability to meet certain criteria. It is based solely on His love for us.
Being chosen by the Creator means that we are set apart: We are not like everyone else. We are not meant to blend in with the crowd or conform to the patterns of this world. We are meant to stand out, to be different, to be a light in the darkness. This is not always easy, but it is always worth it.
The Creator's choice carries with it a sense of responsibility: We are chosen for a purpose, for a mission. We are not chosen to sit on the sidelines and watch life pass us by. We are chosen to participate, to engage, to make a difference. We are chosen to be the hands and feet of Christ in a world that desperately needs Him.
Being chosen by the Creator is not a status to be taken lightly: It is a calling to be embraced, a mission to be pursued, a relationship to be nurtured. It is a truth to be lived out each and every day, in every aspect of our lives.
As we continue to reflect on our identity as Christians, we find ourselves drawn to the transformative power of Christ's sacrifice ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
