WHOLLY FOLLOWED: CLAIMING MY MOUNTAIN

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)

WHY IS IT: THERE WILL BE PEACE? WHY NOT ACCEPT PEACE NOW?

I am so tired and so weary, but I must go along, ‘til the Lord comes and calls , calls me away, oh, yes. Well the morning is so bright, and the Lamb is the light, and the night, night is as fair as the day, oh yes.

There will be peace in the valley for me, some day . There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray; There’ll be no sadness, no sorrow , no trouble I see; There will be peace in the valley for me.

There the flowers will be blooming, and the grass will be green, and the skies will be clear and serene, o, yes; well the sun ever beams, in this valley of dreams. And no clouds there will ever be,

Well the bear will be gentle, and the wolf will be tame, and the lion shall lay down by the lamb, oh yes. And the beast from the wild shall be lead by the child. And I will be changed from the creature that I am, oh yes.

GOD IS NOT FINISHED. HE (MAKES) ME TO LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES, HE RESTORES MY SOUL.

Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

The prodigal son leaves saying: GIVE ME. When the son returns home he has a different attitude: MAKE ME.

GOD CALLS, WILL WE ANSWER. MY OPINION IS THE BEST IS YET TO COME. NEVER GIVE UP.

God called Abraham at 75 --- God gave Abraham a son at 100. Moses thought he was hot stuff at 40 living in Pharaoh’s palace. Moses second 40 years, Moses thought he nothing in the backside of desert. At 80 Moses learned GOD IS EVERYTHING. God calls Moses at 80.

SOMETIMES IT APPEARS THE NEGATIVE CROWD WINS: WE CAN’T DO IT. (???)

Joshua 14:7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God. 9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God. 10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old. 11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

WHEN IS GOD’S CALL OVER? AS LONG AS THERE IS BREATH THERE IS HOPE:

AT 85 CALEB CLAIMS NEW TERRITORY --- LORD GIVE ME MY MOUNTAIN! NOW!

Joshua 14:12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. 13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. 14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel. 15 And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.

HOW EASY IS IT TO LOOSE SIGHT OF THE GOAL?

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

We search not for Godly presents and gifts, we long for God’s sweet presence. Do we earnestly and willingly desire to obey God’s plan? Do we praise God continually? We believe and trust God’s word completely. We GIVE GENEROUSLY. We love hard to love people.
