Summary: Our Christian life from its source to its ultimate slendour with Christ.
CHRIST WHO IS OUR LIFE
Colossians 3:4
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
I LIFE FROM CHRIST SALVATION NEWNESS
John 3:35 & 36 The Father loves his Son, and he has given him authority over everything. 36 And all who believe in God’s Son have eternal life. Those who don’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life, but the wrath of God remains upon them. [NLT]
Romans 8:16 For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God’s children. [NLT]
II LIFE IN CHRIST SINGLENESS IDENTITY
Galatians 2:19 & 20 I, through the law, have become dead to the law, so that I might be living to God. 20 I have been put to death on the cross with Christ; still I am living; no longer I, but Christ is living in me; and that life which I now am living in the flesh I am living by faith, the faith of the Son of God, who in love for me, gave himself up for me. [BBE]
2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
III LIFE LIKE CHRIST SANCTIFICATION HOLINESS
II Corinthians 3:18 And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. [NLT]
"We are changed into his very image by a continued succession of glory, as it were, streaming upon us from the Lord." [Locke].
Ro 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
IV LIFE FOR CHRIST SERVICE FUNCTION
II Corinthians 5:14 & 15 The very spring of our actions is the love of Christ. We look at it like this: if one died for all men, then, in a sense, they all died, 15 and his purpose in dying for them is that their lives should now be no longer lived for themselves but for him who died and was raised to life for them. [J B Philips]
2Co 5:15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
V LIFE WITH CHRIST SPLENDOUR GLORY
I John 3:1 - 3 Consider the incredible love that the Father has shown us in allowing us to be called "children of God"––and that is not just what we are called, but what we are. This explains why the world will no more recognise us than it recognised Christ. 2 Here and now, my dear friends, we are God’s children. We don’t know what we shall become in the future. We only know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is! 3 Everyone who has at heart a hope like that keeps himself pure, as Christ is pure. [J B Philips]
Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
John 17:24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
Colossians 3:4
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
