VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. CHRIST reminder her not to lead Him

"Jesus said to her, [Dear] woman, what is that to you and to Me? [What do we have in common? Leave it to Me.]"

1. His mother and brother is outside

Matthew 12:47-50 (Amplified Bible)

Someone said to Him, Listen! Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.

But He replied to the man who told Him, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?

And stretching out His hand toward [not only the twelve disciples but all] His adherents, He said, Here are My mother and My brothers.

For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother!

I'm pretty sure if we're gonna do this thing to our mother, it will gonna irritate her so much. Imagine, not to claim her as your mother and claim those who does GOD's will is your mother, it's like adding insult to injury, but the LORD JESUS CHRIST is pointing some truths in these, that if you're an obedient disciple of Him, you will be rewarded and given a title brother, sister or mother. What a Reward Indeed!

2. Honor your father and mother.

Exodus 20:12 (Amplified Bible)

Regard (treat with honor, due obedience, and courtesy) your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land the Lord your God gives you.

The issue is not if JESUS honored His mother or not but the issue is who leads whom? GOD leads His people, the Creator leads His creatures. It's always been like that, now a woman from the seed of Eve, wants to lead CHRIST and tell Him exactly what to do? Some of us are like that, unfortunately, we tell GOD how to answer our prayers and how we like it, we could be contented and happy if we could only mention these things that we need and let Him decide how to accomplish and how to deliver it to us.

3. CHRIST called Mary His mother

It's not an issue of title, CHRIST clearly called His mother Mother but this time, it was special, the Saviour leads His people.

John 19:27 (Amplified Bible)

Then He said to the disciple, See, [here is] your mother! And from that hour, the disciple took her into his own [keeping, own home].

4. Eve was deceived when she tried to lead her husband, Adam.

2 Corinthians 11:3 (Amplified Bible)

But [now] I am fearful, lest that even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, so your minds may be corrupted and seduced from wholehearted and sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Eve tried to carry a conversation with the devil, even when she's absent when GOD commanded what to do with the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eve was not yet even created when the commanded came out from GOD but she tried to pretend she's wise and thinking she could talk her way out with the devil, but was deceived. That's why wives should learn not to talk to strangers and start to call her husband and let them do the talking for her. And every wives, say "Amen!"

Genesis 2:16-18 (Amplified Bible)

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.
