Christ-Addicted

Summary: Christ-addicted are prisoners of Jesus
I am a Christian', that is always the response from most people when asked of their religious status. Often than not, it is a title bestowed as a result of the family religious background.
In the real sense, Christians are christ-like. They admit being prisoners of Jesus ( Philemon 1:23) without shame. People who are christ-addicted are always yearning for Him. Before being addicted to Christ you must have had an encounter with Him. Unimaginable transformation follows thereafter, which spurs one to bear witness.
A man of Gadarenes possessed wirh demon for many years, met with Jesus our Lord on a fateful day. At the end of the encounter, he went about sharing the good news ( Luke 8:26-39).
Paul on his way to Damascus had an encounter with Jesus and his intention towards the people of God was transformed (Acts 9:3-6) and he received new strength to preach Christ that He is the son of God (Acts 9:19-20).
The man with leprosy after having encounter with Jesus, was warned not to reveal the great healing he experienced. But he could not hold unto it and publicly shared the good (Mark 1:40-45)
Simon Peter had an encounter with Jesus and never recovered from the experience of being transformed from a fisherman to fisher of men (Luke 5:6-10). It was not surprising that he quickly confessed Jesus as the son of the living God (Matthew 16:16), drawing strength from the first meeting with Him at the lake of Ganneseret and he was further empowered for the earthly assignments (Matthew 16:17-20).
People may say that the various illustrations mentioned were then. As a matter of fact, you can still have that unique encounter with Him now. Mind you Jesus is the word (John 1:1) and is the way and when you diligently seek Him, through Him we have access to the Father (1 Timothy 2:5) . He is sufficient for our transformation ( 2 Corinthians 5:17), if there is genuine encounter with Him (Acts 2:41).
It is a great reality or experience which transforms one to being Christ-addicted.
