Children's Talk: Jesus – The Greatest Gift Ever Given John 3:16

Good morning, boys and girls!

Can you think of the best gift you’ve ever received? Maybe it was a toy, a game, or something really special from someone you love. I want you to think about how happy you felt when you got that gift. Did it make you smile? Did it make your heart feel warm?

Today, I want to tell you about the greatest gift that anyone has ever received. It’s a gift so wonderful that it changes our lives forever. Do you know what it is? It’s Jesus!

1. The Gift of God’s Love

Our Bible verse today is John 3:16. Let me read it to you: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

This verse tells us something amazing—God loves you so much that He gave His Son, Jesus, for you. Imagine someone loving you so much that they would give you the most precious thing they have. That’s how God feels about you!

Think about it like this: if you were in big trouble and someone came to help you, wouldn’t that show how much they care? That’s what God did. He sent Jesus to rescue us from the trouble of sin because He loves us.

2. The Gift of Eternal Life

Here’s something else: when God gave us Jesus, He gave us the gift of eternal life. Eternal life means living forever with God in heaven. Isn’t that incredible?

Let me explain it this way: imagine getting a gift that never runs out. It’s not like a toy that breaks or food that gets eaten. God’s gift of eternal life lasts forever. Romans 6:23 says: “(For the wages of sin is death, but) the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

When we believe in Jesus and follow Him, we get this special gift—a life full of hope and joy with God forever.

3. The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Now, here’s the best part: Jesus doesn’t just give us eternal life in heaven someday; He gives us a joyful life here and now! He helps us every day, filling our hearts with love, peace, and happiness.

Think of it like this: if you had a favourite chocolate fountain that never ran out, wouldn’t that be amazing? Well, Jesus is like that fountain, but even better. He keeps giving us good things—like love, kindness, and joy—every single day.

Conclusion: Will You Accept This Gift?

Jesus is the greatest gift ever given. But here’s the thing about gifts: you have to open them to enjoy them. Imagine getting a beautifully wrapped present and never opening it. That would be silly, wouldn’t it?

God is holding out His gift of love, eternal life, and joy to you. Will you open your heart and say, “Yes, Jesus, I want You to be my Saviour”?

Let’s Pray Together

“Dear Jesus, thank You for being the greatest gift ever. Thank You for loving me and giving me eternal life. Please help me to follow You and share Your love with others. Amen.”

Now remember, as you think about gifts this Christmas, the greatest gift you could ever have is Jesus. And the best part? You can share this gift with everyone around you!
