Charlene (FUNERAL)

Opening Text: John 11:25-26

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will have life even if they die. 26 And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. ”

Matt 11:28

28 “Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest.

Opening Prayer: Lord we come before you with thanksgiving, thanking you that We had an opportunity to know this special person . Charlene no longer has to deal with the uncertainty of this life and the pain of this world, but is now in the arms of a loving and merciful Father. I thank you lord for giving me this opportunity to know our dear sister, Charlene. I ask you dear Lord that you would just put your arms around her and hold her. -Amen

Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. 2 There are many rooms in my Father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you may be where I am.

27 “I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So, don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid.

When our dear friend Charlene was called home some of us like me lost a good friend; some may have lost a sister, some a daughter, some their mother, but our loss is heaven’s gain,

I remember a short time ago we were visiting Charlene a Tacoma Hospital There was a group of singers walking by the rooms singing Gospel songs. Charlene really liked the singing, but was too weak to Join in. If only the Lord would open our eyes and let us look into heaven, we would see a different Charlene, not one tormented by sickness and pain, but a beautiful totally healed person in a glorified body that will never wear out. I can see her right now as she steps out from the crowd and says STEP BACK ANGELS GIVE ME ROOM, I’VE COME TO PRAISE THE LORD. As she begins to sing the words I’VE BEEN REDEEMED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB. All the angels are listening quietly as her voice, once weak but now so strong it shakes the very foundation of heaven.

Charlene can’t come back to you, but you can go to her. There is only one way that you can see Charlene again; You must come the way she did THRU THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.

If you are not trusting Jesus, I invite you to accept him as your savior.

Closing Prayer: Father I now ask you to comfort those of us that will be absent from Charlene for a short while , and let us realize how short life is It won’t be long until those of us that are prepare will soon be with Charlene again.

CHARLENE would not want you to cry for her. She has just had her big day

For the first time in her life a King has rolled out the red carpet for her and has put his arm around her and said Welcome Home

Prayer:

Help us Oh Lord that is still here. that you would comfort our hearts and fill us with the peace of knowing that our Sister has made it home.
