Summary: Jehu was an instrument of God’s judgment, fulfilling prophecy and cleansing Israel of Baal worship. However, his partial obedience and reliance on violence tainted his legacy.
c) The end does not always justify the means (Romans 3:8)
Righteousness must be pursued with integrity.
d) One victory does not guarantee lifelong faithfulness (1 Corinthians 10:12)
We must remain consistent in our walk with God.
e) Biblical Example: King Hezekiah also made reforms but remained faithful to God (2 Kings 18:3-6).
CONCLUSION
Jehu was an instrument of God’s judgment, fulfilling prophecy and cleansing Israel of Baal worship. However, his partial obedience and reliance on violence tainted his legacy. He reminds us that zeal for God must be accompanied by complete obedience and a heart that seeks righteousness.
While he accomplished much for God’s kingdom, his failure to fully follow God led to Israel’s continued spiritual decline. His life warns us that starting well is not enough—we must finish well in faithfulness to God.

1. Lord, give me the grace to obey You completely.
2. Father, help me to balance zeal with wisdom.
3. I reject every spirit of partial obedience.
4. Lord, use me to accomplish Your divine purpose.
5. Help me to finish well in my journey of faith.
