Summary: This is the third sermon in a series on Discipleship. This message is about tsome essential aspects of a Disciple’s Character.

Answer questions that your friends might have about the Lord and give them resources, etc.

FRIEND’s Day next Sunday.

D. A Disciple’s Character Relies on the Lord and not self, vs. 18b & 20b

As you seek to live in Obedience and Make Disciples – you might be thinking, “I can’t do that”. Are you trying to do this all on your own strength or are you relying on the Lord and His Authority and Presence with you?

Phil. 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Conclusion:

A. Character is essential for a Disciple!

Dwight L. Moody said; “Character is what you are in the Dark.”

IE. Character of the Disciple is what you do when you are not in the church building. It is what you do when none of your Christian Friends are around.

B. We need to know that Jesus calls us to be His Disciples.

We need to have Convictions of our Beliefs – if we don’t, we will not fully Act on those beliefs.

But we also need to know that a Disciple is a person of Character – a person of purpose and moral integrity – not just on Sunday’s or when other Christians around.

C. So will you in your commitment to Christ take the next step of your faith and walk through the waters of Baptism?

Will you Obey the Lord in those areas that He is calling you?

Will you risk yourself and Serve the Lord to Make Disciples?

Is there any area in your life that you are relying on yourself and not the Lord’s authority and Presence with you?

BE A DISCIPLE OF CHARACTER! You will be blessed and so will others.
