Celebration.

From the Desk of the Pastor:

This week we celebrated 75 years from the ending of WWII. We owe so much to the Greatest Generation. But today we hardly remember December 7, 1941 and the killing of over 2000 people in a few hours. We still have so many examples of sacrifice and dedication to God and Country. History shows us people that loved their country and the people of the world to fight. A saying: “All gave some, some gave all” is seen at Arlington National Cemetery.

We had the National Day of Prayer May 7th. My only hope is that we prayed “for” stuff and not just “against” stuff. Those people that vote to allow babies right after birth to let them lay there and die. I pray the baby's pain isn’t allowed to communicate with their little brains. I pray for medical doctors that do and allow that to happen and all that are associated with that. They are sick people spiritually and mentally. I pray they will come to their senses before they meet our maker.

One of my favorite celebrations is Mother’s Day. Mothers are so wonderful and all are different and all are the same. Loving, caring, sacrifice and dedication to Children and family. Mother’s Day was started when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. Everyone doesn’t have a wonderful mother but they probably had a person that mothered them. We need to celebrate what these mothering compassionate women did to help children and even some adults. My mother was very trusting of people and could be some gullible at times. We had caught a black snake and had it in a box on the front porch. Mom came out and looked in the box. She said “get that snake off this porch and let it go”. I said mom its not real its from the 5 and dime store. She looked back over in the box and said “they sure make them look real these day”. Then went inside. I love my mom with my whole heart. She has been with the Lord for 8 years now.

These examples of celebrations come about because of teachings of our Father and his Son and the Holy Ghost. We are living in troubling times but we are still called to follow our God’s teaching and looking at his promises:

1 Corinthians 10:31 (NLT)

31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Colossians 3:23 (NLT)

23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Accepting Him as Savior while practicing His principles we can look to our Father in Heaven:

John 14:1-3 (NLT)

14 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
