Summary: IF YOU HAVE BEEN INTIMIDATED BY A ‘SUDDEN RESPONSIBILITY’, a big project, foreign assignment, whatever that is giving you the jitters, then this message is for you!
I am still as strong…
Joshua 24:11”I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming.”
IF YOU HAVE BEEN INTIMIDATED BY A ‘SUDDEN RESPONSIBILITY’, a big project, foreign assignment, whatever that is giving you the jitters, then this message is for you! Actually this verse popped up in my mind at a time when I felt , “Lord, I feel weak, I feel depleted….can I do this job?” The words of Caleb pumped fire into my bones! You would be blessed too!
You don’t have to fear old age…you don’t have to fear sickness, illness, accidents, layoff and disease…when you trust in His strength. I am speaking to someone out there! You got to hear this today! I am not talking about ‘strength’ that comes through vitamins, proteins and carbohydrates, I’m talking about strength that comes from God! When we rely on Him FULLY, then we can roar like Caleb, “I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming.” Keep reading until you tap this energy for yourself!
Whole-hearted trust in God: Friend, when your heart is brimming with trust in Him then your mouth would spill faithful words too! Caleb was 85 years old when he said the above words! He did not focus on his age, his physical ability or physical strength, He simply trusted on the promises and the power of God:
Deuteronomy 1:36” He (Caleb) shall see it, and to him and to his children I will give the land on which he has trodden, because he has wholly followed the LORD!' The giants, the fortified cities and the strange surroundings did not one bit scare Caleb because he trusted God to help him face and chase the enemies. God had promised:
Leviticus 26:7-“You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you.”
Leviticus 26:8-“Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.”
The promises of God were the weapons he trusted to overpower his opponents. Amen
.
Most important, our life should be in line with the Word of God in order to claim the promises of God! At an old age Caleb could confidently and boldly claim for the promises of God because he had obeyed the commandments of God. An elderly man who had been in a top position while he worked, fearfully confided to his son:” Son, I had brought many things that belonged to the company home, now after many years, I feel guilty of this shameful act.” Caleb lived a righteous life, honest life, clean life and a godly life. Throw away the trash of this world and cling on to God and His Words!
