Stand & Read - Proverbs 3:5-6

?Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.?

?Building Your T.R.U.S.T. Fund?

Prayer?

This morning I want to bring our attention to an area within our lives that CAN afford growth?

That area is our TRUST in the Lord?

When we think of the term ?Trust Fund?, we come to think of a spoiled, rich kid who has a rich family; who has set aside mounds of finances for their benefit when they reach a certain age?

-This is an amount of money that has been acquired by the parents for the benefit of the child?

-However, when it comes to our trust fund with God?it works a bit differently?

?God has a TRUST Fund of another sort?

While He IS rich; owning the cattle on a thousand hills, actually owning all that there is?after all, the whole world is in His hands, and the world is His footstool?

-And through Christ, we know that all those resources are available to each of us!!! Praise God!

Not to mention that we are described as heirs, and joint-heirs in Romans 8:17, when it says???and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.?

-You see, all that God HAS and IS, is made available to us through the work of Jesus Christ!

But we must understand that we don?t receive by just being associated with Him?(ie., by just owning a Bible or giving a few bucks to the church)

Notice in the second half of the phrase in Romans 8:17?it says??if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.?

-You cannot be ?guilty by association? like a school-boy who hung out with the bad crowd?never doing what they did?but yet, he got in trouble anyhow?

-Paul reminds the readers of this verse that their key to victorious life in Christ is not an easy path?

Jesus suffered, and we will suffer?and this suffering that we endure is considered a suffering with Him?

But it is in these sufferings that we are identified with Christ?and are able to ?stake our claim? to the riches in Him!!!

-You must be identified with Christ!

-You must be His, and He must be yours.

But we have got to come to grips with something in God?s Kingdom that is different than in this world that we live in?

-While all that God has?comes as a free gift to us from Him?

-It comes by bearing some responsibilities that come with knowing Him?

You will remember many of the promises in the Word that come to us. They all come to us with the phrases??If? and ?Then??

One of my favorite examples of this comes from 2 Chron. 7:14 and it says??If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.?

You see, God has desires to bless and smother His children with good things; however, we must bear the responsibility in acquiring them.

-His gifts are of great value, and they will be given to those who live accordingly?and who will use them with responsibility.

ILLUSTRATION:

You will remember the parable of the talents?and the one who used his talents responsibly, was entrusted with more talents to be used by him with maturity.

You see?God ways are opposite of the world?s ways.

The world wants things to come easy and cheap?and they do come that way; but they are not lasting.

However, God requires something more of us, and of His gifts?

So for our ?TRUST Fund??it is not just stocked full for us to use at our will?

BUT, it does have an availability of mounting, endless resources?all finding their source in God.

-?if God is the source of all things for our lives!!!

PRAISE GOD THAT WE DO HAVE A GREAT GOD TO WHOM WE CAN TURN TO AND HAVE TRUST IN!!!

But that is the key?WE MUST TRUST HIM!

2 Cor. 3:4-5

?And such confidence (trust) we have through Christ toward God. [5] Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God??

Our adequacy comes from God, as we trust in Him!

Do you have need of building your TRUST Fund today? Do you find yourself falling short when you need someone to lean upon in times of trial and difficulty?

Could you say that you would love for your ?TRUST Fund? to grow in God???
