Body By God Text: Genesis 1: 26-28

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Vs. 26 Then God said… in these verses God isn’t speaking unto the animals o course, but He is speaking unto Jesus and the Holy Ghost. Isn’t it something; right before we were created God had a wonderful discussion with the trinity! Yes, before you were created the Godhead came together!

Someone once said, “ I wonder what God looks like?” He looks kind of like you! Think about that just for a minute He created the fish to look like a fish, He created the birds of the air to look like a bird, but when He created you He created you to look like Him!

Look at vs. 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Someone once said,” because Adam and Eve messed up and sinned, God messed us up.” No, you are still made in His image; God didn’t spit on you or alter your appearance. The only thing that changed after the fall is man’s behavior! (Sin)

Genesis 1: 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Vs. 28 Then God blessed them, Can I tell you that He has still blessed you! (You are blessed!)

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

I realize that we lost some dominion over of God’s creation, but we are still blessed. He hasn’t changed His mind, nor will He change His mind. When He comes back on the clouds of the air He’s coming after you and me! (Nothing else.)

God placed a command upon us after He blessed us. He said in Genesis 1:28 … Be fruitful and multiply… I realize He was speaking partially about numerical growth, but He was also saying, Now be or become fruitful in everything because you are blessed!”

II Peter 1:3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

Think about this for a minute, If God was always speaking blessings over men in the old testament through their earthly fathers, how much more does Jesus Christ desire for you to become aware of how blessed you already are!

Now listen, your earthly father doesn’t have to bless you if you will just believe that Jesus Christ already has!

Four things that will change when you really start knowing and receiving how blessed you are! #1. Earthly problems won’t move you!

Phil. 3:7-8 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

#2. If you really knew how blessed you are; you can enjoy others and yourself! ( Many people are so weighed down they can’t even think right!)

#3. Cares won’t weigh you down! Phil.4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

A salesman who usually drove an old car and wore outdated clothes turned up at his office one day in a designer suit, driving a brand new BMW. “ What happened?” his buddy asked. “Remember how I used to worry about everything? He said, “Well, I hired a team of professional worriers; now I tell them my problems and they do all my worrying while I go and sell.” “How much do they charge?” his friend asked. “$5,000 a week,” he replied. How can you afford that?” his buddy asked. Smiling he replied, “That’s their worry, not mine!”
