Reflection

Dear sisters and brothers,

Today, Jesus says: "Do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Jesus challenges us to be.

Jesus challenges us to do so.

Jesus challenges us to have a destiny.

1. Being

Being is what I am.

Jesus challenges this attitude.

I want to be what I am.

Jesus says it is not enough.

"Harvest is plenty."

We need labourers to harvest.

Being what I am, I limit my contribution as a follower of Jesus.

I do need to engage with the Kingdom of God.

Here comes the second one, ‘doing’.

2. Doing

Doing is an activity.

I engage myself in some activities.

In other words, I am doing something.

Doing something does not guarantee I am doing great and right things in my life.

Doing what God commands us to do.

Here comes the third one, ‘destined’.

3. Destined

What is destined for me?

I am a child of God.

I do not look for a comfortable life.

I totally surrender to the providence of God in my life.

I do not attach myself to the material things of this world.

I give myself to others like my Saviour, Jesus Christ.

What is important to people of God who are in need.

I am not here for myself.

I am here for my destiny.

God has anointed me for a certain purpose.

Being in the image and likeness of God, believing in the providence of God.

Doing what God commands me to do in the Kingdom of God for his people in love.

It is not my personal achievement.

It is the will of God.

It is not my personal purpose.

It is the destiny of God.

It is not my success.

It is love from God.

Being, doing and destined need of the hour in our world as followers of Jesus Christ.

He calls each one of us to live according to his purpose in our lives.

That is to live for his people and for his kingdom.

May the heart of Jesus live in the hearts of all. Amen.
