Before This Year Ends, God Will Remember You
Contributed by Joseph Ondu on Dec 6, 2025 (message contributor)
Summary: This year may have tested you. It may have drained you. It may have humbled you. It may have taken things from you. But do not close the chapter early. God is still writing. Heaven is still moving. The story is not finished. Divine remembrance is still possible.
BEFORE THIS YEAR ENDS, GOD WILL REMEMBER YOU
There are seasons when the human heart feels forgotten. Not because God has abandoned us, but because the situation has lasted longer than expected. Many people quietly wonder, “Will this year end without a change? Will my prayers remain unanswered? Has heaven delayed my case?” Yet throughout Scripture, one truth echoes again and again: God remembers. And when God remembers, things shift, situations change, and destinies rise out of obscurity.
In the Bible, divine remembrance is not about God recalling information. It means God takes action. It means heaven intervenes. It means the appointed time has arrived. And as this year draws to a close, the same God who remembered His children in Scripture is about to remember you.
When we look at Hannah, her life was marked by years of tears, disappointment, and mockery. But the Bible says in 1 Samuel 1:19–20, “The Lord remembered her. So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son.” Her remembrance did not come through her strength but through God’s timing. When God remembered her, the shame of barrenness disappeared, and her identity transformed. What seemed impossible suddenly became possible.
In Genesis, Noah had survived the flood, but the waters still covered the earth. The scripture declares in Genesis 8:1, “But God remembered Noah.” When God remembered him, the waters began to recede, the wind began to blow, and the earth made room for a new beginning. This is what divine remembrance does. It causes every overwhelming situation to withdraw and makes space for restoration.
God remembered Abraham and Sarah. For years, they lived with unfulfilled promises. They had a word but no evidence. Yet Genesis 21:1–2 says, “The Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as He had spoken.” When God remembered His promise, Sarah conceived Isaac. What was biologically impossible became spiritually inevitable. This shows that when God decides it is time, no circumstance, age, or limitation can stand in His way.
Joseph experienced a different kind of delay. He was forgotten by the cupbearer. Forgotten by those he helped. Forgotten in a prison he did not deserve. Yet the Bible says in Genesis 41:14, “Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon.” God remembered Joseph by stirring Pharaoh’s dream. The one whom men forgot, God lifted. Divine remembrance can move you from the lowest point of life to the highest seat of influence in a moment.
God also remembered Israel after centuries of bondage. Scripture says in Exodus 2:24–25, “God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God looked upon the Israelites and had concern for them.” This remembrance brought Moses into the picture, split the Red Sea, and destroyed the power of Pharaoh. When God remembers, every oppressor is forced to release what belongs to you.
God remembered the widow of Zarephath in her last moment. In 1 Kings 17:14, God promised her, “The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry.” Her remembrance came at the edge of death. The promise sustained her until abundance returned. God proved that even in the darkest seasons, He sees us and provides for us.
Divine remembrance does not mean God has been unaware. It means the appointed time for intervention has arrived. Psalm 102:13 declares, “Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion, for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, has come.” There is always a set time. And when the set time meets divine remembrance, miracles follow.
This may have been a difficult year. Perhaps you experienced losses, delays, or unanswered prayers. But God never ends a year the way it began. He is a God of completion, and He is too faithful to leave your story unfinished. This year is not over, and heaven does not need twelve months to transform a life. God can settle a matter in one day, one moment, one command, one encounter.
As this year ends, believe the same God who remembered His children in Scripture will remember you. Before this year ends God can remember your prayers. God can remember your tears. God can remember your sacrifices. God can remember your dreams. God can remember your family. God can remember your destiny.
Stand firm in faith because remembrance is coming. Restoration is coming. Elevation is coming. Open doors are coming. Favour is coming. Your story will not end in disappointment. God is already preparing what you have been praying for.
CONCLUSION
There comes a moment in every believer’s life when heaven moves on their behalf. That moment is called divine remembrance. The same God who remembered Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Hannah, Joseph, and Israel is alive today, and He has not forgotten you. You may be in a silent season, but you are not in a forgotten season. Your prayers are not lost. Your tears are not wasted. Your faith is not in vain.
