Be More Than A Wet Weather Springs?

WE NEED MORE THAN WET WEATHER SPRINGS

WE NEED TO DIG DEEPER WELLS...

We have something in the south called springs...

Some areas have so many springs there named by them:

OLIVER SPRINGS, TENNESSEE... ROANE COUNTY...

Many of the springs are what we call: WET WEATHER SPRINGS...

A wet weather spring brings go fresh cool water in times of rain...

the problem with them is during hot, dry weather a wet weather spring

goes AS DRY AS DUST...

You can never depend or raise your family on a WET WEATHER SPRING...

DURING DROUGHTS YOU NEED WELLS, DEEP WELLS...

a deep well will sustain many during DRY SEASONS...

LIFE IS OFTEN FILLED WITH DRY SEASONS...

I. THERE ARE SEVN CHURCHES LISTED IN REVELATION...

EACH CHURCH IS SYMBOLIC AND REPRESENTS SEASONS OR

CHURCH AGES... WE WANT TO FOCUS ON A LESSON FROM SMYRA...

Revelation 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things

saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the

blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue

of Satan.

10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast

some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten

days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;

He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

A. GOD KNOWS our works, and tribulation, and poverty,

(but thou art rich) and I know the

B. that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation

C. be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

II. DARK MAY BE THE NIGHT

DRY TIMES ARE UNIVERSIAL... SUFFERING, PAIN, HURT, TRIALS,

STRUGGLES FROM WITH IN AND WITHOUT...

THESE ARENOTHING NEW, THEY ARE REALITY OF LIVING...

A. WE MUST REALIZE THIS WORLD IS NOT OUR HOME...

2 Corinthians 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with

our house which is from heaven:

B. THE SYSTEM'S OF THIS WORLD ARE NOT OUR SYSTEMS...

MASTER---SERVANT?

III. SYMRNA STORES A HIDDEN LESSON FOR THE MODERN CHURCH...

OF THE SEVEN CHURCHES OF REVELATION ONLY ONE STILL EXIST

NOW... THAT IS SYMRNA...

A. SYMRNA TODAY IS: IZMIR, TURKEY...

B. IZMIR, TURKEY HAS KNOWN:

1. HARD, LEAN, BAD TIMES AND SEASONS...

2. SYMRNA WAS A POOR AREA...

WHILE OTHERS SEEMED SO BLESSED, SYMRNA HAD MASS

UNEMPLOYMENT... CHRISTIAN WERE CONSIDERED A THREAT

AND THUS THEY WERE SECOND CLASS PEOPLE...

3. WHILE THEY WERE POOR IN MATERIAL POSSESSIONS...

GOD TELLS THEM THEY WERE RICH IN SPIRITUAL AREAS...

4. THEY WERE ABUSED ON EVERY SIDE...

There were many altars built to Roman emperors,

They saw the Jews/ Christians as enemies to their system...

Then abuse was but OVERT and OUTWARD...

C. TRIBULATION IN GREEK COMES FROM THE WORD:

CRUSH, A LARGE, HEAVY ROCK CRUSHING BENEATH A HEAVY WEIGHT...

THIS TRIBULATION IS MUCH MORE THAN PHYSICAL...

IT IS EMOTIONAL, MENTAL AND MORE THAN ALL SPIRITUAL...

A DEEP TESTING OF FAITH...

IV. WHY NOT BUILD A DEEP DEEPER WELL...

WAITING FOR A MORE CONVIENT SEASON?

GOD HAS A MASTER PLAN, GOOD COMES OUT OF BAD...

THE QUESTION IS WILL WE WAIT ON THE PLAN, PATIENCE MUST

KEEP US...

A. WE WE BELIEVE THE EMOTIONS AND TRUST THE WET WATER SPRINGS?

THEY WILL FAIL US...

Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall

cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days:

be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

B. Fear breeds fear... fear kills hope... fear is the death bed of faith...

FEAR PARALYZES PEOPLE... Fears is a terrible terrible trap...

C. STOPS US FROM DIGGING DEEPER WELLS...

D. There is no promise of an immediate FREEDOM AND LIBERTY...

WE MUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON...

E. MORE DRY TIMES MAY BE AHEAD?

F. DO NOT BELIEVE THE ENEMY'S PICTURE OF DOOM AND GLOOM...

G. THE TRIALS HAVE A LIMIT... 10 DAYS... God has an answer on the way...

H. MY FRIEND WE MUST BE FAITHFUL...

V. STAND ON THE PROMISES... THE PROMISES ARE T&P, TRIED & PROVEN...

TRUST GOD... THERE IS A PAY DAY AT THE END OF THE ROAD...

JESUS KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN...
