BALANCED LIVING

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Introduction:

Tonight’s study will be an introduction to our Sermon Series we're going to be in. God wants us to live balanced lives. All of us struggle with keeping a healthy balance to how we live.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A common problem that we face is imbalance. For most people, the problem is that we have a tendency to work on our public lives and not on our private lives. We want people to see the outside and assume the inside is good. When your personal life is not balanced, you will experience problems.

When your personal life is not balanced, you will experience…

1. Frustration.

Most of us are very busy and we are juggling many things at the same time. You start to work on 1 area of your life; and then you switch to another area of life. You stay frustrated because about the time you get 1 thing in balance, the other 1 starts to fail.

When your personal life is not balanced, you will experience…

2. Fatigue.

When your life is out of balance, it is exhausting- You are constantly busy and stressed out. If you are not careful, you will spend more time worrying than sleeping- You will be sick and tired. Jesus was perfectly balanced.

Jesus Christ grew in…

* Wisdom, which means that He grew intellectually.

* Stature, which means He grew physically.

* Favor with God, which means that He developed spiritually.

* Favor with man, which means that He developed socially.

Conclusion:

This study will be an overview of 5 areas of your personal life that you need to keep in balance- Your mental balance, physical balance, spiritual balance, emotional balance, and social balance. We will look at how to have a balanced life.

How do you get started in balancing your life?

* Take an inventory.

* Write down a plan of action.

* Establish Christ at the center of your life.

If everything in your life is falling apart, you need to put Jesus at the center and watch Him pull it back together. The bottom line is, Jesus Christ wants to be the center of your life. You can start over. You can have a new beginning. This can be the time that you get your personal life in balance.
