Summary: God has given us a pattern and an example through Abram.

4 years ago, our Lord Jesus Christ called us to start a church for Him. We responded to the call and we have been learning and growing with God’s instructions. Remember at the beginning, that within a month after being commissioned to be a church, we received complete financial support and all the equipment we needed. God provided a place for us to gather and worship. Many have received Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord through this church! We incorporated as All Nations Bible Church last year and God provided a church building for us!

How many of you believe that God has been faithful to us these last 4 years?? Absolutely!!

Our Lord Jesus said, “I will build My church!” Jesus is committed to building us! As we move forward to our 5th year, what should we be thinking about?

You know, God’s timing is always perfect! We have been studying the journey of a man named Abram, who was called by God to establish God’s People in the Promised Land. Abram responded to God’s call, left his home town, and moved his family to Canaan.

For 24 years, Abram and his family have been learning and growing in the Lord. We have noted in our study that God had been faithful to Abram all those years. God then gave instructions to Abram which is applicable to us today!

Please open your Bibles to Genesis Chapter 17.

Pray aloud with me a commitment to God’s Word…

Read along with me Genesis 17:1-14……..

What did God tell Abram?

V1 - walk before Me and be blameless

V2, 4-8 – a promise

V9 - keep My covenant, you and your descendants

Remember what a covenant is? A covenant is a promise and an agreement between 2 or more parties.

How did Abram respond?

V3 - Abram fell facedown

V23………….. – Abram obeyed

The application to us today is simple isn’t it?

God has given us a pattern and an example!

God is committed to loving people and desires to have a relationship with everyone!

And there is a wrong way and a right way to respond to God.

Today, God has called us to be His Chosen People through Jesus Christ.

What has our Lord Jesus Christ told us as a church?

Did Jesus call us to walk with Him and be blameless?

We can note from Matt. 4:19, Mark 1:17, Luke 5:27, John 1:43, Jesus tells His disciples “Come follow Me!”

God Jesus Christ desires a relationship with everyone!

And we read from God’s apostle to us in 1 Peter 1:15, “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.”

And has Jesus Christ given us a promise and a command to keep it? Jesus tells us regarding faith in Him in Matt 16:18, “on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

And in Matt 28:18-20, “Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

What should be our response to god Jesus Christ? Shouldn’t we follow the example of Abram who fell facedown and obeyed God? What does it mean to fall facedown before God??

We are to humbly worship Jesus Christ!

How is your worship of Jesus Christ on Sundays?

How is your worship of Jesus Christ on a daily basis?

We are to follow Jesus Christ on a daily basis!

And what does it mean to obey? Simply, just do it!

Do whatever Jesus tells us!

We are to go, out of our comfort zones, reach out to the lost, and make disciples!

We are to teach people what Jesus said, not our own wisdom or the world’s wisdom.

Someone recently told me about a book using “particle physics” to prove Christianity. Having an engineering background, I was fascinated. I was tempted to purchase this book. But then it dawned on me, I have God’s book in my hands! I have no need for other books to tell me about Christianity!

We are to teach people from the Bible!

How much other “stuff” are you reading in comparison to the Bible?? You will be going backwards instead of forward in life if you neglect God’s Word.

Are you ready to move forward as a Christian and as a church? Learn what Jesus taught in Scriptures!

And you know what, unless we move forward as a church for Christ, America will keep going backwards, no matter who is in the White House! As the church goes, so does the nation!

We are to encourage one another to obey Jesus Christ.

Truly worship Jesus Christ and obey Him.

Please take a moment now to quietly pray to Jesus Christ and make a commitment………….
