Summary: Have you ever walked into someone’s house and went - uh! Is it a cat litter box, or dog breath, or they just cooked fish smell or something else that’s stinky? And yet the hosts can’t smell it? They don’t even notice it!

Are You Spiritually Nose Blind

Have you ever walked into someone’s house and went - uh! Is it a cat litter box, or dog breath, or they just cooked fish smell or something else that’s stinky? And yet the hosts can’t smell it? They don’t even notice it!

Febreeze commercial - people are blindfolded and walked through a house full of rotten putrid spoiled food and they can’t smell it, then they take their blindfold off and are petrified! Sometimes as christians we live in a stinky sin-filled house just like that. We’ve become nose blind to the disgusting stench!

Sin stinks! Only the Devil and his minions will tell you otherwise.

Yet people don’t even notice that they have sin at all! They are spiritually nose blind to stinky sin!

Ah it’s just a little white lie. Or, I can be evil to them because they were evil to me - don’t repay evil for evil.

If a skunk doesn’t have a nose, how does it smell? It smells awful!

Why do dogs with an acute sense of smell drink out of the toilet? Spiritually speaking Christians should be feeding on Spiritual mana such as God’s Word (the Bible) but instead we drink out of the devil’s toilet. Stop feeding and drinking from the devil’s trough and turn to hearing God’s Word instead! Everyone who hunger and thirsts for righteousness will be satisfied the Bible says!

Near the water treatment plant they built houses! Can you image that?

Then you think how can they live there? They become nose blind to the stench. Sometimes Christians, spiritually speaking, become nose blind to sin and then find themselves deep in it themselves. “Ah, it’s just a little white lie - it won’t matter.” Why are we OK with dirty filty stinky spiritual clothes? Shouldn’t we be washed white in the Blood of Jesus?

Now, it’s pretty hard to smell yourself. Did you realize that some people can smell you even if you can’t smell yourself. Ever wondered about that? Some people become consumed with self conscious behavior and have to wash themselves compulsively because they worry about it.

We went to the theater and sat down and watched the previews and just as the movie was starting a family came in that was wearing a ton of perfume! Uh!!!! We had to move to seats on the other side of the theater to get away from them. It was really annoying! I’m sure they thought they were smelling their best too!

Sin is a stench and if you could smell your spiritual self, how would you smell? Are you spiritually nose blind to yourself. Do you think others could “spiritually smell you?”

First Step - Spiritual Shower - Salvation

You must start by having a spiritual shower. Let Christ clean you up! Trust in Jesus to take away your sins. As far as the east is from the west!

Hebrews 9 Christ’s blood cleanses us

11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation.

12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.

13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.

14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

We should be a pleasant fragrance to draw others to Christ.

After we are saved, put on the cologne of Christ!

2 Cor 2 Aroma of Christ!

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?

17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.
