Are you at the right church? Ten core beliefs of ... (of your church)

1. The Bible is true.

We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word. The Bible is perfect and is true from Genesis to Revelation.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 2Timothy 3:16

2. God created man.

We do not believe that man got here as a process of evolution or some sort of cosmic accident. God created man a spiritual being with a soul, different from the animals.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:15-16

3. Man has a sinful nature.

Men are not born guilty. But in a fallen world men are born with a nature to sin.

Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

We hold the Bible's teaching that we become guilty when we sin. Not before. Babies are born pure and perfectly innocent.

4. Jesus Christ is God.

Who was Jesus? Teacher, good man, prophet?

We believe he was and is the son of God.

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives boldly form, Colossians 2:9

Who do you say I am? Lunatic, liar or Lord.

5. Jesus' miraculous birth.

Jesus was born to a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

6. Jesus died in our place.

Jesus lived a perfect life as the perfect lamb for our sacrifice.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

The cost of sin is death. We are buried with Christ.

7. Jesus rose from the dead.

Jesus was crucified on Friday, buried, rose on Sunday.

"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him mark 16:6

Many deny it, say he never died, didn't rise, but he did!!

8. God's plan for salvation.

Gods word has the plan...

Believe - that Jesus is the Christ.

Confess - him before others.

Repent - of our sinful lifestyles and start living for him.

Immersed - be baptized into him.

Live - an obedient life in Christ.

9. Jesus coming return.

Jesus said he would be back for us.

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command , with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the lord forever. Thessalonians 4:16-17

10. All the people will be judged and will spend eternity in Heaven or in Hell.

We will all leave this world and spend eternity in a real Heaven or a real hell.

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that face judgement. Hebrews 9:27
