"And In This Place I Will Give Peace”
Contributed by Dr. Abraham Obadare on Oct 19, 2019 (message contributor)
Summary: The Lord promises to give you peace in your life, home, church and community. He will surely perform it.
Song: I have peace like a river, peace like a river; Peace like a river in my soul 2x
We can sing this song
“For this is what the LORD says: I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flowing stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm, and bounced upon her knees.” Isa. 66:12
Perhaps you are a student, wife, husband, parent, priest, church or family experiencing some difficulties in your life right now, God says, ‘keep working (vs. 4), I am with you. ‘I will shake whatever needs to be shaken on your behalf (vs. 6). ‘The glory of the latter shall be greater than the former’ and ‘I in this place I will give you peace.’ (Haggai 2:1-9)
These are encouraging words from God to all of us who are serving Him to the beset of our abilities.
"Then another message came to me from the Lord: “Zerubbabel is the one who laid the foundation of this Temple, and he will complete it. Then you will know that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sent me. Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” - Zechariah 4:8-10
Perhaps you are among those who sing Psalm 137, God says, do not worry. He will bring a better glory filled with peace.
Peace is freedom from troubles and enemies; having peace of mind;
Please try to come up with your own definition of peace
Who gives peace?
As you know, one can give only what they have. Peace is something given by the Prince of Peace Himself (Isa. 9:6) – to those who have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. His name is Jesus.
Silver and gold belongs to Him (vs. 8)
Who receives this peace?
It is given to those who tremble at His word (Isa. 66:11 & 5)
Those who obey God’s admonition for repentance (Haggai 1:5 &12)
Those who call upon the Lord in times of need (Mark 4:38-39)
Where did Jesus say He would bring the peace?
“… in this place…”
This place means in your body – where your spirit and soul reside; where you are now; where you worship Him (church); where you live (your house); where you work; wherever you find yourself. Halleluiah!
