Summary: It has been said that the only constant thing in life is change. In the midst of change and uncertainty, we can trust in God who never changes.

AN UNCHANGING GOD IN AN EVER-CHANGING WORLD

“I said, ‘O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days; Thy years are throughout all generations. Of old Thou didst lay the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of Thy hands. Even they will perish, but Thou dost endure; and all of them will wear out like a garment; like clothing Thou wilt change them, and they will be changed. But Thou art the same, and Thy years will not come to an end.” Psalm 102:24-27.

It has been said that the only constant thing is life is change. In the midst of change and uncertainty, we can trust in God who never changes.

I. Change is all about us:

The world in which we live is constantly changing!

A national census is taken every ten years because our population changes numerically, ethnically, geographically and economically.

People are changing!

The habits of people change. There is growing isolationism in our society. Many people do not even know the names of their neighbors.

The attitudes of people change. People, generally, do not want to become involved in anything other than their own immediate interests.

We, ourselves, are changing!

In spite of our protest to the contrary, we are changing. We are either growing or dying; either advancing or retreating; either progressing or regressing; either stronger or weaker; either closer to God or farther from Him.

II. We can trust in God who does not change:

His glorious attributes shall never change! His holiness, righteousness, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience will endure forever.

“I am the Lord, I change not.” Malachi 3:6.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

His Word will never change!

“Forever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89.

“The Word of the Lord endureth forever.” I Peter 1:25.

His nature shall never change!

“But Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.” Psalm 86:15.

Am amazing word in deed Jesus does not change. Believers confuse dispensational changes in the Bible and think that God is changing goal posts. Never he is the same God eternally.
