Summary: We look at the qualifications of a priest and apply them to us as Christians
Leviticus 21 qualifications for priesthood
16-24
What does this have to do with me? We don't need priests. We as Christians are called priests. 1 Peter 2:5-9
[5] Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. [6] Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. [7] Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, [8] And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. [9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
The time of priests was shown to be over when God ripped the veil it showed we can come to God. We are priests now we don't need another's authority. We have the authority through the blood of Christ. We are also priests not only in sense of going to Him but also serving Him. Hebrews 13:15-16 we offer the sacrifice of praise.
Hebrews 13:15-16 KJV
[15] By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. [16] But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Amen.
