After its own kind
Gardening season is here. It’s that time of year to get out the seeds, and starts, and start to plant. We garden because we like to enjoy the fruit of our labor. No one sows just to let the weeds take over. It’s a lot of work, but it is well worth the wait.
Tilling up the rocky soil, and then sowing the seeds. Then going out and doing some type of maintenance pulling the weeds, or bugs, or trying to keep out the animals from eating the goods.
When we think of a garden, we think of the reproducing of the fruit. How you can take a seed that is so small, and with the proper care, it becomes a full grown fruit.
The bible teaches us that sowing and reaping is a law that has been from the beginning, and will continue throughout the ages. Everything reproduces after its own kind.
Genesis 1:11-12 And God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tre yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in its self upon the earth, and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in its self, after his kind, and God saw that it was good.
Pray.
And God saw that it was good. God liked the idea of the seed being in its self, and being able to reproduce accordingly. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived, God is not mocked for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.
Gen. 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
God told Noah, that as long as the earth exists, there will always be seed time and harvest. This is a law from God, that he promises us will never fail. As long as the world turns, men will be sowing, and men will be reaping.
Remember, that a law from God is a law to God. He sets standards for men, and for himself by his word. Ps. Tells us that God has placed his name above all things, and his word above his name.
God’s word is his written promise to each and everyone in here that will just believe. Every written word of the bible is important, because it is applicable to us today. God set a law back in the days of Noah, that is just as prevalent today, as it was back then.
This scripture can be applied to us on every level and circumstance in our lives. The law of sowing and reaping. Sometimes we say it differently, but we still mean the same things.
There is a song that I used to listen to called what goes around comes around, and while not exactly scriptural, it is biblical. The way that you treat others, will ultimately come back around to you.
Why? Because this is the seed that you have sown.
If you are mean and hateful to other people, then it will come back to you in the same way. This is sowing and reaping.
The bible says give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down shaken together and running over shall men give unto your bosom. This is sowing and reaping.
Prov. 3:9-10 Honor the Lord with your substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase, so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst with new wine, this is sowing and reaping. It is reproducing after its own kind.
Everything must reproduce after its own kind, because it is a law from God.
Trees will reproduce trees, flowers reproduce flowers, and humans reproduce humans.
We are going to go deeper. On a personal level, the way that you live, will be reproduced in others that are around you. If you are a Christian, and you are always talking about people to other Christians, then that will seem like it is o.k. to do.
If you are a Christian that is always defeated and down trodden, you are going to reproduce the same type of spiritual offspring in people who look up to you, or whom you are ministering to. We as Christians are to be examples unto those around us.
The bible gives us many examples of men who reproduced after their own kind spiritually. If you take a look at the descendants of Adam and Eve. Cain, and Abel of course were the first, but after Abel was killed, then came the next son named Seth. We will look at the 2 lines and compare.
The family line of Cain who started out by murdering his brother out of Jealousy
