Summary: CHRIST ADAPTED HIS TEACHINGS TO HIS AUDIENCE.

ADAPTING THE TRUTH

INTRODUCTION: WEBSTER’S DICTIONARY DEFINITION OF ADAPT: TO MAKE SUITABLE, TO MAKE FIT, TO ADJUST TO A SET OF CONDITIONS. CHRIST USED VARIOUS PARABLES INSTRUCTING LARGE CROWDS AND HIS DISCIPLES. EACH PARABLE CONVEYED A SPECIFIC, SPIRITUAL MESSAGE.

INTERPRETATION: MARK 4:33 (NKJV) AND WITH MANY SUCH PARABLES HE SPOKE THE WORD TO THEM AS THEY WERE ABLE TO HEAR IT. MARK 4:33 (THE BOOK) AND HE USED MANY SUCH STORIES AND ILLUSTRATIONS TO TEACH THE PEOPLE AS MUCH AS THEY WERE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND. JOHN 16:12 ADDRESSES THE SAME ISSUE.

CHRIST USED MANY PARABLES TO CONVEY BIBLICAL TRUTH. HE ADAPTED THESE PARABLES TO THE LISTENER’S CAPACITY TO UNDERSTAND WITHOUT COMPROMISING TRUTH. SOME LISTENERS STILL LACKED UNDERSTANDING.

THOUGHTS FOR THE LISTENER:

TRY TO READ AND STUDY IN A QUIET ENVIRONMENT. PRIORITIZE YOU STUDY TIME.

NEW BELIEVERS SHOULD ADDRESS ONE THOUGH, CONCEPT OR ISSUE AT A TIME.

PRAY FOR UNDERSTANDING BEFORE YOU READ YOUR BIBLE.

PONDER, MEDITATE, AND CONTEMPLATE ON WHAT YOU HAVE READ.

CONSULT YOUR PASTOR AND GODLY BELIEVERS WHO CAN HELP YOU IN YOUR UNDERSTANDING IF NEEDED.

APPLICATION: LET THE WORD TAKE ROOT IN YOU TO PRODUCE THE HARVEST THE LORD DESIRES!
