Acts swiftly and on time
Esther 3:13 Letters were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces to destroy, to kill and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, women and children, in one day,
15 The couriers went out impelled by the king's command while the decree was issued at the citadel in Susa; and while the king and Haman sat down to drink, the city of Susa was in confusion.
Introduction:
A verdict had been signed to kill all the Jews: both young, old, women and children on ONE SINGLE DAY. The words one single day caught my attention! Are you listening to me? The devil is acting swiftly and shrewdly , how about us? We are so lethargic when it comes to attending night prayer, fasting prayer and early morning prayer, we keep postponing it but today comes a warning that we need to act swiftly without procrastination.
Everything was well organized by Haman, the enemy of the Jews who sent couriers to deliver the signed decree. One man got up to fast and pray at such time as this, say amen. His name is Mordecai. We need more of Mordecais’ today for the kingdom of God to act swiftly to save the children of God.
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Someone said: Tomorrow is the barred and bolted door that has shut many people out of Heaven.
a) IMMEDIATE ACTION:
ESTHER 4:1 Mordecai fasted:
Now listen! The book of Esther says, ‘the city of Sushan was in confusion.” (Esther 3:15) Mordecai wore sackcloth and fasted against the evil, demonic forces that was coming against the people of God. He knew this could be broken only through fasting and on his knees. Let me tell you friends, certain things cannot be amended, rectified or set right through arguments, quarrel and reasoning – you got to fast. Amen
We need to be sensitive to the voice of God and act swiftly, are you listening to me? I had gone to another city along with my family for a wedding, midnight the Lord stirred my spirit , reminded me about a particular family and said “arrange for water baptism for the elderly couples.” Midnight I sent whatsapp text and conveyed the matter to the daughter in law. Next day we arranged for water baptism even though it was raining very heavily. Exactly 6 months after that, the elderly woman who took water baptism had a brain stroke, her compete left side has been paralyzed now, she is unable to walk or talk. I thank God for obeying His voice that night!
• CANNOT MOVE FOR 30 DAYS
Esther 4:11: Esther said “ I cannot move for 30 days: I have not been summoned to come to the king for these thirty days."
b) FITTING REPLY:
13 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, "Do not imagine that you in the king's palace can escape any more than all the Jews.
14 "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?
ESTHER UNDERSTOOD THE SITUATION:
Esther Plans to Intercede
15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai,
16 "Go, assemble all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maidens also will fast in the same way. And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish."
17 So Mordecai went away and did just as Esther had commanded him.
ONENESS IN AGREEMENT IS ESSENTIAL TO ATTACK THE DEVIL:
Mordecai went away and did just as Esther had commanded him.
Mordecai understood that they had to be united and in agreement in order to destroy the enemies, therefore he decided to do just as Esther had commanded him. There was no seniority or ego issues here, the only focus was to terminate the enemies, are you listening to me?
Apostle Paul said: 1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
Philippians 2:2 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
Colossians 3:14 NIV
14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
