Abundance John 10: 9-11
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
Isaiah 1:18-19NKJ If you are willing and obedient,
You shall eat the good of the land; 20 But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Our God is a God of abundance. Here Jesus is using a metaphor of Himself being a shepherd over sheep. Moreover, the sheep that listen, follow and stay in His presence will always have pasture. (Abundance) Here Jesus is speaking about a good shepherd in contrast to the present evil leadership of Israel.
In the book of John, Jesus uses “I AM” at least eight different times.
The 8 “I AM’s”
John 6:35 I Am the bread of life, John 8:12 I Am the light of the world, John 8:58 Before Abraham was, I Am. John 10:1 I Am the Door, John 10:11 I Am the good shepherd. John 11:25 I Am the resurrection and the life. John 14:6 I Am the way, truth and the life, John 15:1 I Am the True Vine.
John 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
Here Christ is calling Himself the door or gate, and as the good shepherd lead the sheep out of the door or gate, the sheep would find pasture.
Pasture is essential for sheep; sheep have to have proper pasture.
This verse echo’s the words of Jesus in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
We aren’t waiting for God’s abundance to come our way. No, He’s waiting for everyone in this house to decide to grow and flow on another level.
These verses are insist that belief in Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God is the only way of being “saved” from sin and hell and receiving eternal life.
God sent His only Son to bring unto His creation an abundance of harvest spiritually and materially.
Haggai 2:8 The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts.
Psalm 50:10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.
Deuteronomy 28:1-8NLT “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. 2 You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God: 3 Your towns and your fields will be blessed.4 Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed. 5 Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed. 6 Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. 7 “The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven! 8 “The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
Some might say, “Well that’s OT, how bout NT.
Say, “Better covenant.” According to Matthew 25, Jesus gives some 5 talents, others 3, and some 1 talent. (Abundance!)
Acts 2:42-47 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity —47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
John 10:10AMP The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Why settle for less than full, abundance and overflows!
