" A Thing Incredible"
Text-Acts 26:8
"Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?"
Sermon by Danny Moss, pastor

Introduction-
You who are students of the Bible will immediately recognize the words which I have just
read to you as spoken by the Apostle Paul to King Agrippa. Paul was on trial in a human court
but Agrippa was on trial in a heavenly court! The testimony of the Apostle Paul was delivered
to Agrippa, and there are usually two very different interpretations to Agrippa's final response
to Paul's plea for him to trust in Christ, and beliveve the Gospel:
(1) One view is that Agrippa was "almost persuaded" to accept Christ, and turn to Christianity.
(2) The 2nd view is that Agrippa was speaking sarcastically to Paul, in words similar to this-
"Are you, with just a few words trying to make a Christian out of me?"
Most modern translators seem to lean towards the 2nd view, but the 1st view has merit
also, because the KJV says that Paul told Agrippa that he knew he believed the prophets,
and that is when Agrippa made his remark in the KJV-"Almost thou persuadest me to be a
Christian." Paul can tell us which view was right when we get to Heaven.
What about you? Is it a "thing incredible" to you to accept that Jesus actually did, in fact,
rise from the dead. The word "incredible" in Webster's Dictionary has two very different
meanings-
(1) One says that "incredible" means "very unbelievable".
(2) The 2nd says that "incredible" can mean "amazing".
Everything about the Lord Jesus Christ was INCREDIBLE. Let's notice some of those things
that are truy "amazing" about Him.
I. First, JESUS IS INCREDIBLE IN HIS EXISTENCE
He is eternally co-existent with the Father, equal with God the Father & the Spirit.
He was born in time as a baby in a manger. He was holy, harmless, undefiled, seperate
from sinners. He was fully God, and fully man at the same time. Perfect, without sin.
2. Secondly, JESUS IS INCREDIBLE IN HIS TEACHINGS
Never man spake as this man. He spoke with authority and power, and wisdom, and
love. No one has ever equaled His teaching abilities. His parables. His prophesies.
3. Thirdly, JESUS IS INCREDIBLE IN HIS LOVE.
No one has ever loved as Jesus loved. He was full of compassion, mercy, truth, honesty,
and forgiveness.
4. Fourthly, JESUS IS INCREDIBLE IN HIS PRAYERS.
Never man prayed as Jesus prayed. The disciples were so impressed by His prayers
that they asked Him to teach them how to pray.
5. Fifthly, JESUS IS INCREDIBLE IN HIS MIRACLES.
He healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out demons, calmed storms at sea, etc.
6. Sixthly, JESUS IS INCREDIBLE IN HIS DEATH.
Jesus died a unique death. No one has ever died with the weight of the world's sins on
His shoulders like Jesus. He died unjustly, guilty of no wrongs, yet He died willingly.
He lay down His life for all of us.
7. Seventhly, JESUS IS INCREDIBLE IN HIS RESURRECTION, HIS ASCENSION, AND IN
HIS COMING AGAIN.
He will soon return to this earth, to rule and reign for 1,000 years. He will defeat Satan,
and all the forces of evil, and will judge all mankind. His people will not face judgment of
condemnation, but of rewards, and the lost will face judgment of their sins and works.
Invitation- Christ Jesus is truly INCREDIBLE! Right now, He may be calling you to take up
your cross and follow Him. Are you under God's convicting power now? Then open up your
eyes and ears, see and hear the truth, and accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
It is
