A Stones Throw Away

Acts 7:54-60

When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. [55] But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. [56] Look, he said, I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.

[57] At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, [58] dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.

[59] While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. [60] Then he fell on his knees and cried out, Lord, do not hold this sin against them. When he had said this, he fell asleep.

Vision Dominates

To be pure before the Lord.

Matthew 5:8

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Does the vision of heaven dominate your life, is it the number one desire of your heart?

Better give your heart to Jesus.

Heaven is just a stones throw away!

Looking Heavenward

Psalm 143:8

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

Every breathing moment remind us of his unfailing love. May we put our trust in him, so he can show us the way we should go.

I will rest in those promises made and just like every soul set free I know Jesus is waiting for me.

Christ Exalted

Luke 12:35

Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning,

Every morning be dressed and ready for service. Keep your lamp burning.

Better get your house in order Don’t throw your whole life away. Better give your heart to Jesus He could take us to heaven today.

Spirit Filled

Acts 11:24

He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.

Is your life filled with the Holy Spirit? Is your life filled with faith?

You need to be filled with faith and the Holy Spirit so when that moment when there seems to be know way out, you can see Jesus standing there.

Heavenly Home

2 Cor. 5:1

Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Do we worship this earthly tent we live? Don’t we know that is will be destroyed. We have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Heaven is just a stones throw away.

God’s Glory

2 Cor. 3:18

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We are to be a reflection of Jesus Christ. We have been transfromed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Stephen

Acts 7:56

Look, he said, I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.

Stones Throw Away

Stephen saw that look in their eyes

He saw the stones in their hands

He knew his words had cut their hearts

He knew their plan___

But in that moment of no way out___

Stephen never had a doubt___

Yet in that moment of final despair

Stephen saw Jesus standing there

Just a stones throw away___

Heaven is just a stones throw away

Can’t you see what I’m seeing now

Can’t you see that sings?

They’re written every where

They say it’s almost time.

but Just like Stephen full of faith

I will rest in those promises made

I know Jesus is waiting for me.
