Contributed by Damien Saylor on Feb 9, 2020 (message contributor)
Summary: Imagine the purity of the moment we see Christ face to face! There will be no more sin, or corruption upon us! We will be perfect, as God had intended us to be. It’s coming! That’s our hope, Truth!

Sermon- A spiritually satisfied soul
- This morning we are going to have our last sermon in the series about our soul.
- When we first experience the redemption that comes through Christ, it’s a life
changing moment.
- A new chapter in our lives has begun. That’s where the Satisfied soul comes in.
- Instead of trying to redeem ourselves from the destruction of sin. We are finally
relying on Christ who came for that sole purpose, to redeem those that were lost.
- As with any new thing, the glow, beauty, can be forgotten, or wear off.
- I know that sounds bad, or like that’s just not possible. At least not for those who
really accepted Christ as their Redeemer.
- That’s not true though.
- For anyone living the upward sailing soul life, it can become tiring when you come
to grips with your own faults, & the faults of those around you.
- We live in a fallen world. We walk amongst many that are not like us, Christians.
- The crowd that pressures us, pulls us, nags us, & taunts us can not only make
us slip, but also make us lose sight of the joy we have in Christ.
- So, our last message is about having a Spiritually Satisfied Soul.
Psalm 17:15
15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
- Imagine the purity of the moment we see Christ face to face!
- There will be no more sin, or corruption upon us!
- We shall be perfect, as God had intended us to be.
Prayer
- When it comes to being a Child of God we strive to be just like dad, & that’s perfect.
- We know that’s not going to happen, but that doesn’t stop us from trying.
- Let me give you an example.
> A Joke Backfires (Author unknown www.christian-jokes.org)
A preacher, who shall we say was "humor impaired," attended a conference to help encourage and better equip pastors for their ministry. Among the speakers were many well known and dynamic speakers.
One such boldly approached the pulpit and, gathering the entire crowd's attention, said, "The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman that wasn't my wife!" The crowd was shocked! He followed up by saying, "And that woman was my mother!" - The crowd burst into laughter and delivered the rest of his talk, which went over quite well.
The next week, the pastor decided he'd give this humor thing a try, and use that joke in his sermon. As he surely approached the pulpit that sunny Sunday, he tried to rehearse the joke in his head. It suddenly seemed a bit foggy to him.
Getting to the microphone he said loudly, "The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of another woman that was not my wife!" The congregation inhaled half the air in the room. After standing there for almost 10 seconds in the stunned silence, trying to recall the second half of the joke, the pastor finally blurted out, "...and I can't remember who she was!"
- The words, Spiritually Satisfied.
- Jesus said, the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Our weakness, there is not a human being on the face of this earth that can
acclaim they are perfect.
- In the beginning we were created in the image of God. The Latin Words,
Imago Dei.
- What That means is, we were created to live forever, & perfect.
- Now we are created in the image of Adam, imperfect, & will die.
- When God created us, we are the only creation that He physically did something
with.
- He breathed into us!
- God physically put a piece of Himself into us.
Q- With our current state marred by Adam, how can we be Spiritually Satisfied?
- Here’s the answer,
Ephesians 4:22-24
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
- Jesus came to remove the marring Adam put over us, & He has reconciled us back to
righteousness, holiness, God!
- The whole theme of being a Christian is, get out of your head & get into the mind
of Christ.
- Jesus is perfect, pure, & we are now made after His image.
- Listen,
Colossians 3:10
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
- We have returned to purity, Through Christ.
