Summary: A Spiritual Path...

A Spiritual Path...

Scripture

Matthew 26:36-46

Reflection

True joy comes from being God’s partner in love as a distributor of his wealth of love to everyone.

But, it is not possible unless I experience it personally in my life.

Here, I would like to reflect with you on a spiritual path that can lead us to be a true partner in God’s love.

1. Fall...

Falling in love is a common saying among people.

Do we really know what is falling in love?

Jesus looks at everyone with mercy and compassion.

Mercy and compassion are offshoots of love.

Without love, we cannot have mercy and compassion in our eyes.

Mercy and compassion come directly from one’s heart.

Jesus falls in love with everyone he encounters.

It may be when you long for him like Mary Magdalene, or it may be that Jesus wants to reach out to you like a good Samaritan.

It includes everyone who crossed the path of Jesus in his lifetime and after his resurrection.

2. Break

Brokenness in our relationships or in love happens in every person’s life.

Do we need to be in the dark corner of life after our brokenness?

Jesus did not sit in the corner of the room and cry after his rejection.

He never went to hide himself after the Pharisees opposed him.

He bounced back with more energy, vigour, zeal and enthusiasm.

He does not allow anyone to be broken...

He lifts them not only with his words but also with his actions.

3. Learn

Learning is a skill.

We can all learn.

We come into this world without any learning.

We learn everything after we come into this world.

It is a lifelong process.

It is not a finished product.

We learn.

We unlearn.

We learn good attitudes and behaviour.

We unlearn that which breaks us from ourselves and others.

By learning, Jesus grows in wisdom and knowledge.

Learning from everyone, we become students all the time.

In learning, there is nothing that I can say that I have learnt everything.

I can never say that I know everything.

It is the attitude of a fool.

In learning, we never become old.

Learning keeps our brains active.

Jesus was learning from everything.

He learnt from nature.

He learnt from people.

He learnt from every situation.

4. Heal

Healing is something positive.

Healing conveys that there was a wound or there was hurt or there was pain.

Healing is a stage of development.

We need to make a decision.

Healing will not occur unless we decide to clean and dress every day.

It is needed for peace.

It is a process of self-love.

It is not wrong.

It is good.

All are in need of healing.

By forgiving others, Jesus heals himself by forgiving himself. Those who harm him by kissing, by betraying, by denying, by hurting physically, by hurting emotionally, by rejecting, by nailing him on the cross, by keeping him away in fear.

He heals all.

He heals sins.

He heals physical infirmities.

He heals psychological and emotional struggles.

He heals.

Healing is a good feeling.

We can heal ourselves.

We can heal others too.

5. Rise

Bloom where you have been planted.

It is not only a saying, but also a commitment.

Any tree or plant that finds its way to the ground, intends to grow.

It does not fight for the spot.

It finds the place.

No one can control its growth.

It is made that way by the creator.

We need to rise in the same way.

We need not waste our time fighting.

We rise with Jesus.

He is our hope.

He is our master.

He is our saviour.

May the heart of Jesus live in the hearts of all. Amen.
