Sermons

Summary: A "stand alone" message but also good for communion. See also "A Portrait of The Bread". Link included to both sermons in Formatted Text, w/ Handouts and Powerpoint Presentations and Templates.

We still speak of being “under the Blood.” The judgment will not fall on those who have placed their faith in Christ and accepted Him as their Savior.

If you have not gotten under the protection of the Blood of Jesus Christ, I beg you to do so now before the death angel comes to your house.

Do you get the picture today? Can you see Christ’s blood? More importantly, can God see it? If not, all He sees is your sin. Make sure you’re covered…one application will do!

Let us as the church, the people of God NOT FORGET to mention the Blood... for without it... all that we do is a lie... it was the Lords sacrifice and for that I am saved and free.

As we devalue the consequences of sin, we also depreciate the value its' cure. I have heard large "seeker friendly" churches request visiting speakers refrain from mentioning "the blood" to avoid offending anyone. I used to ignore these accounts as unlikely but I've heard some credible men report it as happening to them. Imagine the Body of Christ no longer "comfortable" talking about the Blood!

Thank you Pastor Jerry for not being afraid to preach about the blood. Without it we are lost and so is the entire world. I can assure you that some of your outline will be used by many who love to exalt the Lord and His effectious death - it was the blood that made it so effective. We need good preaching like this!

Good to preach on the blood. Bad to make poor comparisons. "The process of fermentation is actually bacteria working in the juice. It is a rotting process. This could never give a proper picture of the sinless Blood of Christ. For all that is holy, Satan has his counterfeit?and communion is no exception! Pure grape juice is the true symbol of the pure Blood of the Lord Jesus, just as the bread is to be w/out leaven." Fermentation is not rot, but the byproduct of the growth of yeast - as any baker can tell you. Unleavened bread is bread without yeast and rise. Unleavened bread is dead, not rotted - it has no life of yeast in it. Grape juice, when drunk, has no yeast in it either. Wine is a byproduct of yeast, a natural fermentation process that occurs with fruit juices left to sit under cover over time

Very nice message, for without the Blood we are nothing. Great Illustrations as well. Great word that should be preached by ALL in every church

The sermon is very good except I question his argument of using juice versus wine. It is clear that on the night the Lord was betrayed he took wine, not juice, for communion. Pure grape juice did not exist at the Passover. Fermentation sets in almost immediately after the grape has been crushed in the wine press. In the story of the Good Samaritan, the Samaritan used wine, not grape juice, as a disinfected remedy. I personally am an abstainer from alcohol, yet there are at least thirteen health benefit of red wine, more so in organic wine. The blood of Christ speaks to me as a cleansing agent to wash away sin. Furthermore a protective agent as well.
