Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Explore the power of renewed faith, the hope found in the resurrection of Christ, and the joy of unwavering belief.
Good morning, family! Today, we're diving deep into the heart of Luke 24:10-25, exploring the power of renewed faith, the hope of the resurrected Christ, and the joy of unwavering belief.
I love how Max Lucado puts it: "Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right."
Let's take a moment to read this passage together:

Let's bow our heads for a moment of prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, hungry for Your word, eager to learn, and ready to embrace the hope of the resurrected Christ. Renew our faith, Lord, and fill us with the joy of unwavering belief. Illuminate our understanding as we delve into this scripture and apply its truths to our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let's go!
The power of a renewed faith is the idea that our faith, once renewed, can transform our lives and our relationship with God. This renewal is not a one-time event, but a continuous process that happens throughout our lives. It is a journey that every believer must embark on, a journey that brings us closer to God and deepens our understanding of His love for us.
In action: The women who had followed Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others, had their faith renewed when they saw the empty tomb and the linen cloths by themselves. They were the first to believe in the resurrection of Jesus, even when the apostles thought their words were an idle tale. Their renewed faith gave them the courage to share the good news, despite the disbelief of others.
Gives us the courage to stand firm in our beliefs: It does so even when others doubt or ridicule us. It gives us the strength to share the good news of Jesus Christ, even in the face of adversity. This courage and strength come from the Holy Spirit, who dwells in us and empowers us to live out our faith.
The transformation it brings to our lives: When our faith is renewed, we see things from a different perspective. We see the hand of God in everything, and we understand that He is in control. We see the world through the lens of faith, and this changes how we live our lives. We become more loving, more forgiving, more compassionate, and more willing to serve others. This transformation is not something we can achieve on our own, but it is the work of the Holy Spirit in us.
Brings us hope: In the story of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, we see how their faith was renewed when they recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread. Their hearts burned within them as Jesus explained the scriptures to them, and their hope was renewed. This hope is not a wishful thinking, but a confident expectation of God's promises. It is a hope that sustains us in times of trials and tribulations, a hope that gives us peace in the midst of storms.
Not limited to these aspects: It also brings us joy, peace, and a deeper relationship with God. It helps us to trust God more, to rely on Him in all circumstances, and to surrender our lives to Him. It helps us to grow in our spiritual journey and to become more like Christ.
Pastor, here would be a good place to share a personal story about a time when you felt your faith was renewed. How did this affect your life?
