We are just like the fly on a big painted picture. We can see clearly the area that is below and next to us, but we cannot see the entire picture. Sometimes we need to step back from the picture to get a view of its entirety. What is the picture that the artist wanted his viewers to see?
At the end of the book in Revelations is a picture God has painted. The woman and the dragon. Here we see that early prophecy eminently fulfilled in which God said he would put enmity between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, Gen 3:15. You will observe The attempts of Satan and his agents to prevent the increase of the church, by devouring her offspring as soon as it were born; of this we have a very lively description in the most proper images.
Rev 12:4 the dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.
How does this apply to our raising our children to be Godly? We must first understand that our children are a target for destruction by the Dragon. The Dragon is the representation of Satan and all that he produces in our society and of this world.
Rev 20:2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
The dragon stood in front of the woman. He wants to bring separation between man and God! The devils main goal is to stand between you and God / Holy Spirit, who is about to give birth to your child. If the devil can destroy your child at an early age he will succeed by not allowing the child to be born again and to grow in the lord. If the devil can destroy the destiny of our children from receiving their inheritance and promises of eternity then the devil will succeed in destroying the next generations after that and so on! It’s the bigger painted picture!
The dragon wants to devour the child. Devour means: To eat up greedily
to destroy, consume, or waste. To take in eagerly: to prey upon voraciously
He does this by standing between God and them. He makes sure that our children are separated from God and uses sin as his primary weapon.
Rom 6:23 for the wages of sin is death
Sin brings separation to God and will lead to our eternal death.
He stands between your child and God by having them believe that God is not real. That He is just a fairy tale. They don’t have to give their lives to Jesus and accept him as Lord and Savior.
He stands between your child and God by allowing them to think that it’s ok to sin, it will not affect them. That sin doesn’t separate them from God.
I’m not going to allow the devil to succeed by standing between my child’s relationships with God. I’m going do everything I can to expose him as he really is. I’m going to paint another picture for my children on a daily basis and tell them the truth about the way he wants to stand between them and God and try to bring separation and destroy their lives for eternity. How do we Raise Godly Children? We can start out by exposing the lewdness of the dragon and his purposes to destroy them. By telling them the truth! John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
