Summary: The crucifixion of Jesus was a part of God's plan from the very beginning of the birth of Jesus.

Verses: Matthew 27:45-54; Mark 15:33-41; Luke 23:44-49.

Today, we reflect on the pivotal moment in human history when Jesus died on the cross. This event marks the culmination of God's plan for our redemption and the defeat of sin and death.

As Jesus breathed His last, the curtain in the temple was torn in two, signifying that the way to God was now open to all people. The earth shook, rocks split, and tombs broke open, releasing the bodies of the saints who had died. These events symbolize the cosmic implications of Jesus' sacrifice, shaking the very foundations of sin and death.

In that moment, the wrath of God was satisfied, and divine justice was fulfilled. Jesus' death became the atoning sacrifice for our sins, bridging the chasm between humanity and God.

Let us remember the depth of God's love, demonstrated through the cross. May we embrace the power of the cross, which:

• Redeems us from sin's grasp

• Reconciles us to God

• Empowers us to live victoriously

As we meditate on the cross, may our hearts be transformed by the magnitude of God's love. Let us surrender our lives to Him, embracing the gift of salvation and living as testaments to the triumph of the cross. Amen.
