Summary: Who has the most beautiful feet in the world -- The Bible tells me -- JESUS!
Can you imagine what was like for Mary to see the Son of God's feet for the first time as Jesus was just a new born baby? Holding and washing and protecting those little beautiful feet! Then watching him grow up as a little boy in a carpenter's shop, then as a teenager amazing his elders about how much he knew about His Heavenly Father.
Then, Jesus put those feet in the Jordan, to be baptized, and then walked thru the desert meeting His enemy. At times he showed his disciples He could walk on top of the water! Years ago, a DTE commercial showed a man walking through the whole state of Michigan in one day. Amazing walking! But Jesus did that as well, but with a mission, to preach, teach, healing, and helping in anyway He could. The feet were dusty, and full of blisters walking many miles every day.
He told His disciples to shake the dust off their feet if anyone rejects them as He was rejected in many towns that He walked. But if took seriously the words of Isaiah (52:7) then Jesus has the most beautiful feet in the world because of what he did -- preached. "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him that brings good tidings." Paul reminds us in Romans 10(vs15).
Lets watch again what happen to those beautiful feet of Jesus in the 3 1/2 years. "And great multitudes came to Jesus having with them the lame, blind and dumb.... and they cast them down at Jesus feet and He healed them. (Matthew 15:30). The movie "Happy Feet" is no brainer, as it is with Jesus gives us joy when we are healed by Jesus!
Then there was man who had the devil cast out of him by Jesus. He then comes back to Jesus thanking Him and the man is sitting at the feet of Jesus and they said he was in his right mind. Then my favorite is Mary and Martha when Jesus came to their house. And Mary is sitting at the feet of Jesus learning of the Son of God. Our Bible is described as a "A lamp unto thy feet." (Psalms 119:105
Luke loves to tell the story of the woman who lived a sinful life and went to the Pharisee's house to annoint Jesus. "As she stood behind Him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. (Luke 7:38) She was asking forgiveness from Jesus with her tears. Jesus forgave her.
At feet of Jesus we can be forgiven and healed. We can learn from Him and can honor Him as King as they did with their palms before His feet. The 10 lepers came to Jesus to be healed and only came back and thanked Jesus at His feet.
But we also know what they did to the most beautiful feet in the world. They put nails in them, but at the same time Jesus was crushing the serpent's head in hades and preached to the prisoners and released them. Then the feet were held in a tomb for three days and walked out by the power of God. Mary falls to His feet and worships Jesus for the first time alive! Those same feet walked on the road to Emmaus and the disciples saw his nailed print hands and feet, They knew it was Jesus.
Then John the Apostle has a Vision of Jesus years later on Patmos. He said "I saw Him! And I fell at His feet as a man dead, and Jesus laid His right hand upon me and said 'fear not, I am the First and the last. (Revelation 1:17) He worshipped Jesus again at the most beautiful feet in the world!
We also remember what Jesus did in teaching a lesson about humility . . . He washed the grubby feet of the disciples .... does that mean Jesus wants our lives to be clean and pure? Jesus showed us that he loved us and wants our lives to be so loved by Him. Where would you go with your feet for Jesus?
CONCLUSION: The most beautiful poem that speaks about the feet of Jesus written by Mary Stevenson in 1939, "FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND." "One night I dreamed as I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me. I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that as many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.!" AMEN.
