#8~ ANGELS-pt.4 BIBLE DOCTRINE 9-1-12
Today we'll continue with our study to do with bible doctrine, and once again say a few things about "Angels".
----
Angels are spirit beings, however from time too time have taken the appearance as men, listen as I read from Gen. 18:
---
>> Let me remind us that one of these MEN was the LORD, because Abraham calls Him "LORD" IN VERSES 1+13-14.
--
>> Gen.18:1-3 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he (Abraham) sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
--
After they enjoyed a meal of STEAK, BREAD, MILK & BUTTER, the Lord told Abraham that at the set time Sarah his wife would have a son even though she was well into her 90's and Abraham 100 years old.
---
>> 16And the men rose up from thence, (eating) and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.
--
>> 20And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
22And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: ** but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
--
Abraham knew that Lot his nephew lived in Sodom, so he starts with the number 50, if 50 were found to be righteous would God destroy it, and then the number goes all the way down to 10, the LORD said if 10 were found to be righteous He'd not destroy it.
-- I believe it's most probable that the only one there that was righteous was Lot, and he was in such a backslidden condition that even his son's in-law had no confidence in him, the only reason we can know for certain that Lot was righteous is because of what Peter says about him in-
--
>> 2 Peter 2:7-8 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, ** (what do we watch on TV.) vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds ;) --
----------
Gen.19:1- And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: -(at the gate is where all business was taken care of, Lot was a prominent citizen of Sodom)- and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; 2And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. (Notice, Lot had no idea that soon Sodom would be ashes)- And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. - (Lot knew full well what would happen to these two strangers if they were left on the streets of Sodom)-
----
3And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.- (Remember these were two angels, the same two that ate a feast at uncle Abrahams only a short time before, now their having another feast at Lots house)--
--
4But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: -- (Notice the perverts had the home of Lots completely surrounded, homosexuals of all ages, from all the area)-
--
5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. (Sodomize them; notice too that these angels looked like men to the perverts)
---
6And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.-(the Sodomites had rather have the two men than to have Lots two virgin daughters)
