# 7~ FIVE pt.2 THE MEANING OF BIBLE NUMBERS 11-19-11

Today we’ll continue on with our study of the meaning of Bible numbers, as I told you last time the number five has a two fold meaning , (grace or we could say Gods goodness—and the other meaning is death)

It’s my hope and prayer that as we see the meaning of these numbers that it will cause our faith to increase as we realize that no man or any group of men could have possible worked these great truths out, only God could do this.

We talked about the number five some last time, so we won’t go over altogether what has already been said to do with five. We’re still thinking on five as being the number of grace at this time.

The Psalms contain FIVE Books, each closing with praise to God, the first five books of the Bible is called the Pentateuch.—penta- means five, tateuch- means “books”.=five books=.

The Exodus Book: Concerning National Israel

Book Three of the Psalms is = Psalms 73-89 typical of the third book of the Pentateuch.

There are FIVE women mentioned in the genealogy of Christ in Matthew 1.

They are Rahab, Ruth, Tamar, Bathsheba, and Mary. All had experienced the grace of God in their lives.

------

The Apostle John wrote FIVE books that reveal the Grace of God toward the believers.

In addition, they are the Gospel of John, first, 2nd, and 3rd epistles of John and the Revelation.

There are FIVE things a Christian is told to remember. |

1. What you are saved from. (Ephesians 2:11-12 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

2. Those who suffer. (Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds,--)

3. Those who rule over you. (Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow,-)

4. Truth. (Jude 17-18 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. –And--

Rev. 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent.)

5. When we sin and repent. (Rev. 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent,)

Notice that the word GRACE is used FIVE times in succession in Rom.11:5-6. Moreover, the word is not found again in this chapter. –listen as I read.

Rom.11:5-6 Even so at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of GRACE. And if by GRACE, then it is no more of works: otherwise GRACE is no more GRACE. But if it be works, then it is no more of GRACE: otherwise work is no more work.”

Notice too, that the word “works” is found four times, the number of creation, the WORK of God.—listen as I read it again.

In Ist Peter 1:1-2 Peter addresses his epistle to the saints scattered through FIVE countries, and he mentions FIVE doctrines, and these two FIVES are followed by the word GRACE.

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout PONTUS, GALATIA, CAPPADOCIA, ASIA, and BITHYNIA, == ELECT according to the FORE KNOW LEDGE of God the Father, through SANCTIFICATION of the Spirit, unto OBEDIENCE and sprinkling of the BLOOD of Jesus Christ:

It was by grace that God called ABRAM, later to be called Abraham, there was no cause in Abram that God should have called him and choose him; he was of a land that worshipped pagan gods.

There was no cause why God should have made an unconditional covenant with Abram and his seed forever. It was simple the GRACE of God, God was making away through Abraham’s seed that the entire word could be saved by His grace.

Remember, “Grace” means unearned, undeserved favor of God; God did it because He wanted to, Abraham had nothing to do with the saving part, but through Abrahams seed came Christ of the tribe of Judah.—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Jude.
