WHAT ARE WE DOING TOGETHER?

TOGETHER, WE ARE…

2 Corinthians

...fixing our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.

...groaning, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling

...making it our goal to please him

...regarding no one from a worldly point of view.

...waging war not as the world

...fighting not with weapons of the world

...demolishing arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God

...taking captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

...ready to punish every act of disobedience

...faith continues to be growing

...sincerely and purely devoted to Christ

Galatians

...must share all good things with his instructor

Ephesians

...being apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers

...preparing God’s people for works of service

...reaching unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God

...becoming mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

...no longer being infants, tossed back and forth by the waves and blown here

and there by every wind of teaching and by every cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

...speaking the truth in love

...growing up into him who is the head

...growing and building the body up in love as each part does its work.

...no longer living as the Gentiles do...

...being taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus

...putting off our old self

...being made new in the attitude of our mind

...putting on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

...not being a hint of sexual immorality among us, or any kind of impurity or of greed because these are improper for God’s people.

...not mentioning what the disobedient do in secret.

...struggling not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

...being able to stand our ground having done everything to stand.

Philippians

...standing firm, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose us.

...suffering for Him

...going through the same struggle

...eagerly awaiting a Savior from there [heaven], the Lord Jesus Christ

...agreeing with each other in the Lord

...renewing our concern

...sharing in troubles.

Colossians

...bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power

...having taken off our old self with its practices and having put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

...standing firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

1 Thessalonians

...became imitator of the Lord

...welcomed the message given by the Holy Spirit with joy in spite of severe suffering

...became a model to all the believers

...ringing out the Lord’s message

...turned to God from idols

...serving the living and true God

...waiting for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead

...daring to tell his gospel in spite of strong opposition

...speaking as one approved of God to be entrusted with the gospel

...not trying to please men, but God who tests my heart

...gentle, like a mother caring for her children among others

...loving others so much, delighted to share with them not only the gospel of God but my life as well

...working night and day to not be a burden to anyone while preaching the gospel of God to them

...being holy, righteous, and blameless among others

... dealing with each of them as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging them to live lives worthy of God

...receiving the Word of God, accepting it not as the word of men but as it actually is, the Word of God, which is at work in those who believe

... became imitator of God’s churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus suffered from my own countrymen the same things those churches suffered from the Jews

...strengthening and encouraging others in the faith

... standing firm in the Lord

...praying night and day to see them again and supply what is lacking in their faith

...living in order to please God --and doing this more and more

...taught by God to love others ----and doing so more and more

...believing that Jesus died and rose again and that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him ... encouraging others with these words

...not in darkness that the day should surprise like a thief

...not belonging to the night or the darkness

... being kept blameless --whole spirit, soul and body, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

2 Thessalonians

...faith is growing more and more
