Morning Worship

Isaiah 53:5

Subject: By His Stripes We are Healed

Title: Healing Through Intimate Worship

This is our fifth and final week in our series about how the Lord has chosen to bring healing to all those who would place their trust in Him. Do you believe that is you that the arm of the Lord has been revealed? Do you believe that the promise is for those who have believed the report?

Let’s begin by holding up our bibles.

I believe this is God’s word…

I believe it is for me…

I accept it as mine…

I will appropriate it to my life today…

What Isaiah saw in his vision of the suffering Messiah some 700 years before the fact, he was seeing into the spirit realm. What the Roman soldiers and the religious leaders in Jerusalem saw as Jesus was being punished for us, they saw as an end to a problem. What satan saw – and listen, when I type out my sermons I never give satan a capitol “s” – He doesn’t deserve it - what satan saw as victory in the natural realm, the death of Jesus, Isaiah was seeing in the spiritual realm how it pleased God as it says in verse 10, Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.

The Lord was bringing restoration to the whole man, body, soul and spirit. And the battle that satan and the people on the scene at the time thought was being waged in the natural was being won in the spirit.

Isaiah 53:4 (NKJV)

4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; We’ve talked about how many translations and also in other places in the scriptures the same words that are translated as griefs and sorrows are in other places translated as pain and sickness. So we can say – because it is our legal right to do so – that, Surely He has born MY pain and carried MY sickness…

Every body say that…

Surely He has born MY pain and carried MY sickness…

Now for those of you who haven’t been with us on Wednesday night Bible Study for the last two weeks, or on Sunday nights when Brother John has been preaching, we have covered the spiritual battle and the spiritual armor. On Wednesday we talked about how all these battles that we fight are not carnal but spiritual.

Two places I want you to look at before we really get to where we want to God this morning.

Ephesians 1:11-14 (NKJV)

11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

You have an inheritance! Just let the words speak for its self!

Later in Ephesians chapter 1 the Holy Spirit through Paul tells us that Jesus is seated in the heavenly places or heavenly realm and all things are put under his feet… all principalities and powers and might and dominion – every spiritual evil has been defeated in the heavenly realms… all sickness, all pain, all confusion, all depression, all financial struggles, all worry… it has been all taken care of as part of our inheritance.

Yes, but those things are in the spiritual realm and we live here in the natural… Right? I mean what good do those things do for us if we don’t have access to them?

Ephesians 2:4-6 (NKJV)

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…

There is the key. You who belong to Christ are seated with Him in the heavenlies and now you have access to everything that was accomplished at the cross.

Hallelujah! Somebody shout praise the Lord!

Now, we want to move into the heavenly places – the spirit realm – in order to retrieve the benefits that are ours – the things that have already been accomplished for us. And we want to help you this morning by showing you that one of the best ways to enter in is through worship.
