A. It is a Word of Pardon

1. This word spoken to a man fully aware of his sin

3. Evidence of God’s working in his heart

a. Aware of God’s knowledge of his heart

b. Has become reverent toward God (v. 40)

c. Sees himself as guilty (v. 41)

4. Assurance that sins are forgiven

a. Prayer answered

b. Promise of life from the Lord

B. It is a Word that is Personal

1. “With me”

2. The thief cries out for personal salvation

3. Lord! Remember me!

a. The prayer of faith: “Lord!”

b. Never saw a miracle or heard a sermon

c. Looked at the crucified and called Him Lord

d. “Remember me.” Expects Him to complete His work

C. A Word about Paradise

1. “In paradise”

2. We will be with Jesus in heaven when we die

b. No soul sleep and no unconscious state
