Summary: As Christians, we often struggle with seeking approval from others. We desire to be liked, accepted, and praised by those around us.

As , Christians we often struggle with seeking approval from others. We desire to be liked, accepted, and praised by those around us. However, the Bible teaches us that our primary focus should be on seeking God's approval, not man's.

Dangers of Seeking Man's Approval

Seeking man's approval can lead to:

1. People-pleasing: We become slaves to others' opinions, trying to meet their expectations rather than God's (Galatians 1:10).

2. Fear of rejection: We fear being rejected or criticized by others, which can lead to anxiety and insecurity (Proverbs 29:25).

3. Compromise: We compromise our values and convictions to gain approval from others (1 Samuel 15:24).

4. Idolatry: We make people's opinions an idol, prioritizing them over God's (Ezekiel 14:3-4).

Seeking God's approval brings:

1. Freedom from people-pleasing: We are liberated from the need to please others, focusing on pleasing God instead (2 Corinthians 5:9).

2. Confidence: We gain confidence in our identity and purpose, knowing we are approved by God (Ephesians 2:10).

3. Courage: We find courage to stand firm in our convictions, even when others disagree (Joshua 1:9).

4. Peace: We experience peace, knowing that God's approval is all that truly matters (Philippians 4:7).

Biblical Examples

1. David: David sought God's approval, not man's, when he faced criticism from Saul (1 Samuel 24:1-15).

2. Jesus: Jesus prioritized God's approval, even when faced with opposition from the Pharisees (John 5:41-42).

3. Paul: Paul sought God's approval, not man's, when he faced criticism from the Galatian church (Galatians 1:10).

Apply Practically:

1.Focus on God's Word: Study and apply God's Word, seeking to please Him above all else (2 Timothy 2:15).

2. Pray for God's guidance: Seek God's guidance and wisdom in decision-making, rather than relying on human opinion (Proverbs 3:5-6).

3. Stand firm in convictions: Stand firm in your convictions, even when faced with opposition or criticism (1 Corinthians 16:13).

As Christians, we must remember that our primary focus should be on seeking God's approval, not man's. By prioritizing God's approval, we experience freedom, confidence, courage, and peace. May we seek to please God above all else, and may His approval be our greatest desire.
