Though you have not seen him, you love him even though you do not see him now, you believe in him

are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving

the goal of your faith the salvation of your souls

i. Peter knows he has seen Jesus

ii. Knows most, if not all have not seen Jesus

This is most difficult _ if only I can see him

iii. Because of the Gospel we love him it is something unexplained

2. Joy

i. This joy is present!

ii. Source of this Joy

3. Receive

i. define means “to obtain something that is due”

ii. Salvation is our because of the finished work of Jesus!

JESUS CHRIST AS SEEN IN JUDGES:

Each Judge is a savior and a ruler, a spiritual and political deliverer. Judges portrays the role of Jesus Christ as or Savior and King.

C. Jesus as seen in Obadiah

CHRIST IN OBADIAH:

Christ is seen as: 1. The Judge of the nations 15-16

2. The Savior of Israel 17-20

3. Possessor of the Kingdom 21

III. So why 1 Peter 1:8-12

A. To encourage us in times of doubt.

1. We are gripped by faith.

2. We are forgiven
