FINAL DESTINATION OF GOD’S ENEMIES

Jude 1:14-15

Introduction:

One of the most asked questions through the ages has been, “What happens to you when you die”? The answers vary upon religious beliefs; but the true answer is found in the Bible. What happens to a person after they die is dependent upon one decision made during their lifetime. In our text, Jude focuses on what will happen to the enemies of God.

James 4:4

Jude describes to us what is going to happen at the Battle of Armageddon and the Great White Throne Judgment.

Jude 1:14-15

1. The battles.

At the end of the 7 years of Tribulation, the kings of the world will be gathered together. The scene is now set for the Battle of Armageddon.

After this battle, Jesus will reign as King with all the Saints here on this earth for 1,000 years. During these 1,000 years, Satan will be locked up in the Abyss. At the end of the 1,000 years, Satan will be loosed long enough to gather some for 1 last battle where he will be destroyed and cast into the Lake of Fire forever. Once Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire, judgment for all lost people will occur.

2. The judgment.

We need to notice the significance of the books that are opened up. All those who died without Christ as Savior will be resurrected and will be before the Great White Throne. Each person’s life has been recorded in a book and it will be opened up. Each person at this judgment will be judged according to what they had done, sins and all. The penalty of sin is eternal death. This 2nd death is spending eternity in the Lake of Fire.

How do you avoid this Great White Throne Judgment? Your name must be found in the Lamb’s Book of Life. How do you get your name in this Book? By accepting God’s gift of salvation, which comes only through His Son Jesus Christ.

Every person begins life with their name in the Book of Life, but if they die without Christ as Savior, their name is then blotted out of the Book of Life.

Exodus 32:32-33

Verse 33 says that whoever has sinned against God will be blotted out of the Book of Life. This is a problem for all people because we have all sinned. Even after we are saved, we continue to sin. So, what does this mean for Christians?

Once a person is saved God sees them as if they never sinned. That is justification. When a believer in Jesus Christ dies their name remains in the Book of Life. When God looks at a Christian, all He sees is the blood of Jesus Christ sprinkled on them. “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.”

Conclusion:

If you died right now, where would your final destination be?
