REMOVE THE WEIGHTS ... THE WEIGHT OF SIN

Hebrews 12: 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, LET US LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT AND SIN WHICH DOTH SO EASILY BESET US, AND LET SO RUN WITH PATIENCE THE RACE THAT IS SET BEFORE US...
Let us ponder Laying aside weight to attain victory.
This is part two of Pondering Remove the weights, based on Hebrews 12:1.
I. REMOVE THE WEIGHT OF SIN.
I am wearing a backpack with 40 pounds of rock,
the first rock is labeled SIN.
I have a friends removes it one rock from my backpack,
I have painted the word SIN on the rock.
I have SIN the biggest rock, it is a little larger than three fist,
the rest are little bigger than soft ball size.
#1REMOVE THE WEIGHT OF SIN:
THE DOWNWARD TRAIL OF SIN --- DANGER.
The Lesson hidden in Genesis 3.
Sin leads in YOU IN PROGRESSIVE STEPS farther and farther from God and His Will.
A. SHE LISTENED...
Gen. 3:1 The enemy had a message, he SOLD EVE the package.
B. SHE SAW...
vs. 6...woman saw the tree was GOOD for food....
1. Sin is not hurtful because it is forbidden, but it is forbidden because it is hurtful.
2. Sin starts in the eyes, appealing to sense, that seed grows in brain.....
C. SHE TOOK...
vs. 6...she took of the fruit thereof...
1. Reached out with her own hand...
2. I THINK SHE HAD NO INTENTION OF GOING ANY FARTHER...
WHAT IF EVE HAD OF STOPPED HERE?
ONCE ONE ENTERS THE PROCESS,
THE NEXT STEP IS PROGRESSIVE.
A kiss, a hug, a LIE.....
D. SHE ATE...
Forbidden fruit may be exciting, but it makes BAD JAMS.
E. SHE GAVE...
Gen. 3:6 She gave also to her husband...
1. Sin is contagious
2. Sin draws others into trap...no man is an island to himself.
F. ADAM DID EAT...
Gen. 3:6...He did eat...
1. Free will and choice...
2. ...ponder what if Adam had been stronger?
G. ADAM DEMONSTRATED A LACK
OF FEAR, RESPECT, LOVE, IN DISOBEDIENCE.
1. I DON’T CARE WHAT GOD SAYS....
2. I’ll do what I want to do...
H. ADAM BECOMES A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A BAD EXAMPLE.
1. Adam’s sin does more than a little harm...
2. Following generations come under the curse,...
3. Loss of Divine Favor...God had walked and talked with Adam.
SIN WILL TAKE YOU FARTHER THAN YOU PLANNED ON GOING....
SIN WILL KEEP YOU LONGER THAN YOU PLANNED ON STAYING....
SIN WILL COST YOU MORE THAN YOU PLANNED ON PAYING....
RECOGNIZE THE DOWNWARD TRAIL OF SIN...
CONTROL THE EYES AND HEART...THE DESIRE...
Sin’s sin is man declaring he is independent of God and His Word!
The center of
s(i)n...
pr(i)de...
Luc(i)fer is I....
carnal....selfish
There is never little sin...
little leaks sink ships......
2 Kinds of men:
1) Righteous see self as sinner.
2) Sinners that see self as righteous
Repent when caught?
Are we seriously ashame and broken for sin?
