INTRODUCTION

Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron, played a significant role in the deliverance of Israel. She was the first female prophetess mentioned in the Bible and was instrumental in watching over Moses as a baby, ensuring his safety. Her leadership among the women of Israel was evident when she led them in a song of praise after the Red Sea crossing.

However, despite her spiritual gifts and leadership role, Miriam struggled with pride and jealousy, which led to her downfall when she challenged Moses’ authority. God disciplined her with leprosy, but after intercession from Moses, she was restored. Her life serves as a lesson in both the rewards of faithfulness and the dangers of rebellion.
