RETRIBUTION for SIN

“Sin violated God’s law. It violated God’s nature. It violated God’s glory. It violated & destroyed paradise. It ruined the heart of Adam & Eve, catapulted the whole human race into iniquity. It gave....a certain power to the enemy, Satan, because now he had become, as it were, the god of this age, the ruler of this world who would now have a measure of control over these fallen people.”—John MacArthur

Satan’s HUMILIATION(:14)

Explanation:(:14)

:14—“So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.”

Now that all parties involved are flushed out & their sins are admitted or at least apparent, YaHoVeH God then voices an eternal curse upon the serpent. This He does for the reason that the serpent was the instigator behind leading the woman astray thus producing major ramifications regarding their well-being.

The serpent is now “cursed” above all domestics & wild beasts. This would be fulfilled by the serpent having atypical(no legs) movement & thereby doomed to “eat dust” always. This is a description of humiliation & subjugation. It is a standing reminder of & testimony to the animal’s actions regarding man who had been formed of the “dust of the ground”(Gen. 2:7). The serpent will in effect, eat man’s dust forever.

Domestics are given to the command & control of mankind working directly for him. Wild beasts are those animals which are potentially dangerous to mankind but are still basically at man’s mercy to allow them their lives.

The “serpent” is thus condemned to maintain a lower position(of respect?) in comparison(though others creep(1:21?, 25) to every other animal. How so? By always being a picture of humiliation, which likewise, pictures Satan’s humiliation & subjugation.

What happens when a person of no conscience—No moral guidance is Humiliated? They would plot the demise of those involved.

“Cursed”—rra aw-rar’—Verb Qal Passive Participle masculine singular absolute—Strong—To execrate:-- X Bitterly curse.

“Belly”—Nwxg gaw-khone’—Belly(of reptiles). Strong—The external abdomen, belly (as the source of the fetus).

“Dust”—rpe aw-fawr’—1) Dry earth, dust, powder, ashes, earth, ground, mortar, rubbish

Argumentation:

Ezekiel’s description of the King of Tyre as referent to Satan—Ezek. 28:13-15—“You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, & diamond, Beryl, onyx, & jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, & emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels & pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back & forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.”

In Job 1-2 Satan still must answer to God though he does not want to.

Isa. 14:12-15—Against the king of Babylon as referent to Satan—““How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer[light-bearer, shining one], son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.”
