Attention:
At breakfast one day, a wife eagerly waited for her husband to comment on her first attempt at homemade cinnamon rolls.
After several minutes with no reaction, she asks, "If I baked these commercially, how much do you think I could get for one of them?"
Without looking up from his paper the husband replied, "About 10 years."
Our concept of justice is may be somewhat strained.
There is a perfect justice which God has ordained regarding the initiation of sin.
Genesis chapter 3 precisely documented the original appearance of sin.

RETRIBUTION for SIN
“Sin violated God’s law. It violated God’s nature. It violated God’s glory. It violated & destroyed paradise. It ruined the heart of Adam & Eve, catapulted the whole human race into iniquity. It gave....a certain power to the enemy, Satan, because now he had become, as it were, the god of this age, the ruler of this world who would now have a measure of control over these fallen people.”—John MacArthur

Satan’s HUMILIATION(:14)
Explanation:(:14)
:14—“So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.”
Now that all parties involved are flushed out & their sins are admitted or at least apparent, YaHoVeH God then voices an eternal curse upon the serpent. This He does for the reason that the serpent was the instigator behind leading the woman astray thus producing major ramifications regarding their well-being.
The serpent is now “cursed” above all domestics & wild beasts. This would be fulfilled by the serpent having atypical(no legs) movement & thereby doomed to “eat dust” always. This is a description of humiliation & subjugation. It is a standing reminder of & testimony to the animal’s actions regarding man who had been formed of the “dust of the ground”(Gen. 2:7). The serpent will in effect, eat man’s dust forever.
“The snake has no personality, it has no self-consciousness. It has no soul. A snake like every other animal doesn’t know it exists. But snakes here then are not punished in some personal way, but really become a symbol of the punishment of Satan.”—John MacArthur
Domestics are given to the command & control of mankind working directly for him. Wild beasts are those animals which are potentially dangerous to mankind but are still basically at man’s mercy to allow them their lives.
The “serpent” is thus condemned to maintain a lower position(of respect?) in comparison(though others creep(1:21?, 25) to every other animal. How so? By always being a picture of humiliation, which likewise, pictures Satan’s humiliation & subjugation.
What happens when a person of no conscience—No moral guidance is Humiliated? They would plot the demise of those involved.
“Cursed”—rra aw-rar’—Verb Qal Passive Participle masculine singular absolute—Strong—To execrate:-- X Bitterly curse.
“Belly”—Nwxg gaw-khone’—Belly(of reptiles). Strong—The external abdomen, belly (as the source of the fetus).
“Dust”—rpe aw-fawr’—1) Dry earth, dust, powder, ashes, earth, ground, mortar, rubbish
Argumentation:
Ezekiel’s description of the King of Tyre as referent to Satan—Ezek. 28:13-15—“You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, & diamond, Beryl, onyx, & jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, & emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels & pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back & forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.”
In Job 1-2 Satan still must answer to God though he does not want to.
Isa. 14:12-15—Against the king of Babylon as referent to Satan—““How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer[light-bearer, shining one], son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.”
2Chron. 7:14-16—““If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, & pray & seek My face, & turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, & will forgive their sin & heal their land. Now My eyes will be open & My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen & sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; & My eyes & My heart will be there perpetually.”
We can apply this in a very real sense to ourselves because each Christian is a temple of the Holy Spirit() & each is built up with the other as a “spiritual house” which honors God(1Pet. 2:5).
1Pet. 2:5—“you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
1Cor. 3:16-17—“Do you not know that you are the temple of God & that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.”
1Cor. 6:19—“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, & you are not your own?”

CLASS HATRED(:15a-c)
Explanation:(:15a-c)
:15—“And I will put enmity Between you & the woman, And between your seed & her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.””
The serpent is doubly cursed by...
1)God’s ensuring that a permanent “enmity” is maintained between the serpent(& its progeny?) & “the woman” along with all her progeny(“her Seed”).
2)— Sin entered in with...Satan’s DEFEAT(:15d-e)
**On the outset, such permanent hostility seems too strong a relationship to be maintained between all humanity & mere serpents(animals) thruout their time together on earth.
Some of a more liberal mindset when approaching this Scripture would point to this as being an example of anachronistic fear of snakes. This would put the Scripture in the category of ‘myth‘ rather than truth.
Therefore there must be spiritual consequences to the curse, much like there are unstated spiritual elements to the commandment that the man would “die” upon eating the forbidden fruit.
Her “Seed” is capitalized by the NKJV authors who see this as a reference to Jesus being the promised Seed of the woman(per Gal. 3:16-17 in reference to Abraham), which He most definitely is. An interpretive gesture which is not necessary but insightful.
*This portion of the curse seems obviously meant for something other than a mere physical animal, thus implying that there is vastly more to the whole temptation-sin scenario than originally meets the eye.
All humanity(progeny of the woman) will have an intense inbred hatred for the appearance/things/ways of the ‘serpent’ & those of its/his progeny/ilk.
God is placing a boundary, setting a standard, which is not to be crossed. It is a permanently ordained, pre-judged, pre-determined Hatred between 2 classes of beings. The classes being Satanic & Human.
The various names & associations of “the serpent” reveal a great deal regarding his hatred for mankind:
Abbadon, Apollyon(Destroyer-Destruction)—Rev. 9:11—“And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.”
Accuser of our brethren—Rev. 12:10—“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, & strength, & the kingdom of our God, & the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day & night, has been cast down.”
Adversary—1Pet. 5:8—“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
Beelzebub(Lord of the flies, Dung- god)—From Hebrew meaning ‘Baal of the fly.’— “Ruler of the demons”—Mat. 12:24; Mk. 3:22; Lk. 11:15—“But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.””
Belial(“worthlessness, ruin or destruction”)—2 Cor. 6:15—“And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?”
Dragon—Rev. 20:2—Speaking of animal-like ruthlessness, ferocity, & power.
Enemy—Mat. 13:39—“The enemy who sowed them[tares] is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, & the reapers are the angels.”
Wicked one—Mat. 13:38; Mat. 13:19—“When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, & does not understand it, then the wicked one comes & snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.”
Father of Lies, Liar & Murderer—Jn. 8:44—“You are of your father the devil, & the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, & does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar & the father of it.”
Tempter—Mat. 4:3—“Now when the tempter came to Him[Jesus], he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.””
Prince of the power of the air—Eph. 2:2—“in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,”
Ruler of this world—Jn. 14:30—“I[Jesus] will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, & he has nothing in Me.”
God of this age—2Cor. 4:4—“whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”
Ruler of the darkness of this age—Eph. 6:12—“For we do not wrestle against flesh & blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
“Enmity”—hbya ay-baw’—1) Enmity, hatred. Strong—Hostility:-- Enmity, hatred. Used 5X.
“Seed”—erz zeh’-rah—1) Seed, sowing, offspring—1a) A sowing, 1b) Seed, 1c) Semen virile, 1d) Offspring, descendants, posterity, children, 1e) Of moral quality—1e1) A practitioner of righteousness (fig.), 1f) Sowing time (by meton). Strong—Seed; figuratively, Fruit, plant, sowing-time, posterity:-- X carnally, child, fruitful, seed(-time), sowing-time.
Argumentation:
Rev. 12:10-13, 17—“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, & strength, & the kingdom of our God, & the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day & night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb & by the word of their testimony, & they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, & you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth & the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.”.....“And the dragon was enraged with the woman, & he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God & have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Ps. 5:4-5—“For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.”
If God hates “workers of iniquity,” then we will do likewise if we truly love Him!
Ps. 26:3-7—David states—“.... Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth. I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, Nor will I go in with hypocrites. I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And will not sit with the wicked. I will wash my hands in innocence; So I will go about Your altar, O LORD, That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.”
2Chron. 19:2—“And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, & said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked & love those who hate the LORD? Therefore the wrath of the LORD is upon you.”

What happens when we become insensitive to this God-ordained hatred & hostility? We can so compromise our relationship with God that we become accepting of the deception of the serpent. The “enmity” of such prejudice is never intended to be erased, shaded, covered or euphemised! We should always despise the devil’s will & work.
Oprah Winfrey stated at the beginning of one show(2011) “Would you believe that in 19??, 75% of Americans believed that homosexuality was a sin!?”
Jn. 7:24—““Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.””
Who sets the standard of judgment? God does! Not man, not feelings! But God!

*2)Note the seed(Seed) now becomes personalized. “He”(the seed of the woman(humanity) &/or the promised Seed(Christ)) will in effect, “bruise” the “head” of the serpent(Satan). This bruise will be a devastating blow(deadly) to it(he) & its(his) self-determined purpose. Satan & all who follow his will indeed ultimately find themselves in the lake of fire for eternity(Rev. 20:10).
Gal. 3:16-19—“Now to Abraham & his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred & thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; & it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.”
The serpent is being willingly? used of Satan—as will Antichrist—so that bruising the serpent’s “head” is synonymous with bruising the serpent’s master(Satan). The passage is concerned with a comparison of the quality of the bruising.
In like manner though, the serpent(Satan) also still maintains some power in that it(he) will inflict similar damage(“bruise”) to mankind(the Seed). However it will only be injurious/hinderous/obstructive but not ultimately deadly. This situation carries enormous & lasting ramifications for mankind’s spiritual livelihood.
It is significant that the God neither names nor discloses His Christ’s location or time-frame directly to Satan.
“Bruise”—Pwv shuwph—1) To bruise, crush, gape upon, desire?, seize?, strike out?—1a) (Qal) To fall upon, bruise. Strong—properly, To gape, i.e. Snap at; figuratively, to overwhelm:-- Break, bruise, cover. Used 4X.
“Head”—var roshe—1) Head, top, summit, upper part, chief, total, sum, height, front, beginning. Strong—from an unused root apparently meaning to shake; The head (as most easily shaken), whether literal or figurative (in many applications, of place, time, rank, etc.).
“Heel”—bqe aw-kabe’—1) Heel, rear, footprint, hinder part, hoof, rear of a troop, footstep.
Argumentation:
Isa. 25:7-9—“And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations. He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, & Death & Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death & Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
